Sorry Mark, I don't quite follow your question. Is what normal? If you mean falling from Grace, yes quite. We are born fallen children of Adam and Eve. Yes, we will, given the chance, always choose the path that leads us away from Christ. Hence the comment from the Lord, "Go in by the narrow gate. For the wide gate has a broad road which leads to disaster, and there are many people going that way. The narrow gate and the hard road lead out into life, and only a few are finding it." (Matt 7: 13 Phillips)
If one was to combine the count of people in both WELS and LCMS the number would be less than half that of E*CA. Hence, the Lord's words are being borne out, are they not?
"This is the verdict:
"Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light. So that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God." (John 3: 19-21 NIV)
E*CA is obviously the Church of the Holy Goats.
