What was silly was your trying to imply more than 7 denominations is equivalent to 7 theories of moon formation. When in reality those multiple denominations all have the same theory on the moons creation.... while one branch I’d academics had multiple.....

Seems to me the consensus is that the moon is the result of a planetary collision of earth with some other proto planet, very early on in shortly after the formation of the solar system.

Perhaps you are also including theories that have since been discarded?

Of these, the first three have been abandoned since the 1980s, and I think that the last three are variant forms of the catastrophic collision theory. However, I accept your general point that we still do not know in detail how the Moon was formed.
