You believe the universe was created around 13,800,000,000 BC, do you?
Yes , the universe is about 13.8 billion years old , the earth is 4.6 billion years old and life started on this planet about 3.8 billion years ago. “Belief “ has nothing to do with it . This is what the evidence shows

Didn't evidence show us at one time that Phlogiston existed?

Science corrects its mistakes!
They have to make them first to correct them, don't they?

Thalidomide was a medical mistake . They didn’t test it properly. It’s my understanding that thalidomide is still being used . They just don’t use it in pregnant women . They’ve learned better.

And what do you mean that they have to make mistakes in order to correct them . That’s rich coming from a creationist. The mistake of all mistakes was accepting an fantastical account from the Bible and trying to shoehorn all of natural phenomena into those fantasies.

So is the Big Bang Theory.

It can't be repeated under controlled conditions in a laboratory.

It's a mistake ... a joke ... a lie of the devil.

Ask any astronomer ;you can see back in time because light travels at a finite speed . IIRC they can see back as far as a million years after the Big Bang . Astronomers have seen stars with no elements above iron . That’s only possible from the early universe as modern stars have elements heavier than iron in them . Google stellar nucleosynthesis . If you want the details.

No, thanks.

I'll take what the Bible says over trial-and-error science any day.

Luke traces our lineage right back to God as Adam's creator.

Not Mother Nature as y-Adam's creator.

Things in the universe may LOOK like they've been around for millions of years (like light from distant stars), but the fact is, the universe has only been in existence since 4004 BC.

LOL

Where’s your evidence that this young earth nonsense is accurate?
1. I'm not a young earther.

2. Creationism is not science. Creationism is a belief in a series of divine fiats that brought this universe into existence from nothing.

The amount of mass/energy started out at zero, then was raised to its current level over a period of six days.

No ion trails left behind as evidence, no plasma clouds, no time crystals, just the Documentation.

If you're trying to imply that science "makes mistakes" and that knowledge it produces can't be trusted as a result, then the same logically applies to creationism. Various creationist beliefs were around a lot longer than scientific examination of the world and universe, and it was the latter that supplanted a lot of creationist beliefs.

If you're trying to imply that science "makes mistakes" ...

Is this just an "implication" to you?

How about this?

I could go on and on and on, but it's too bad I have to go dig those images up.

Heaven forbid an academian would.

The only time they'll admit to a mistake is when they get caught and can't pass the buck.

It's a tough job, but if someone is going to gloat over their science and use it as a tool to pwn our beliefs, you can bet someone else should show up to balance the scales.

Oh I can definitely agree that creationism isn’t science!!! The other ideas are cute but bizarre fantasies even if you’re not a young earther

The Hindenburg’s fire was an accident. So was the shuttle explosion. Human error can cause tragic accidents. Natural phenomena can sometimes cause accidents. What does that have to do with science in general.

The type of ignorance you show about scientific matters is more likely to cause these types of tragic accidents .

I could go on and on and on, but it's too bad I have to go dig those images up.

You could but then you'd still be nowhere closer to addressing what I actually wrote instead of your attempted quote-mine.

The fact is that creationist beliefs fell into the same pool of other beliefs which were overturned as we learned more about the world in which we live.

(There's also a certain irony of having a conversation on the Internet with someone decrying science.)

The only time they'll admit to a mistake is when they get caught and can't pass the buck.

Giant strawman is made of straw.

Yes, I know.

The truth of the matter is:

It doesn't matter that you misdiagnosed me.

I believe in the Bible, and thus ANY adjective twill do ... won't it?

I've been called a YEC, Last Thursday, Omphalos, OEC, and a Protestant.

Anything but what's in my profile.
