James 2:5I have one verse of the Bible which I meditate on a lot, to the extent that I think it has defined my faith, and indeed my whole theology. I am forever quoting it on this forum.I suspect that others may have their own favourites, and would be interested to know what these verses may be.
This might seem an odd verse, but here it is. The context is Moses asking to be shown God's glory
Exodus 33 v 19
Then He said, "I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion"
When you place this statement alongside the character and example of Christ, you can see the fulfillment of Our Lord's claim that he and his Father are one and the same. It also reminds us that we cannot judge, because God's mercy is beyond our understanding.
So, any other verses? Thanks.

They do have meaning, brother. We are not just community in Christ, but family.Ahhhh! Good to know because about 90% of those "so and so begats" don't mean a whole lot to me.
tulc(I do like the gospel parts though!)
My theology needs the entire word of God. He didn't put in any unnecessary extras.
WOW when we one is all we can pick from so many we have to make it a good one.
Matt. 22: 36-40 said:36Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38This is the first and great commandment.
39And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
We don't have to, but should definitely desire to. Peace be with you, brother, and welcome to CF!We have to follow all that Jesus said. Not just the verse or two that we like.
