Oh man, those previous comments were hilarious!!

I almost died !!

Seriously though, I require a googolplex of computing power and unfortunately, even this highpowered Alienware computer falls short.

:help:

Perhaps, If I had the systems that these CGI movie companes have, then I might have enough computing power.

Any others ?

Glad you took them in the spirit they were written.

I was talking with my best friend earlier about this thread and the conversation turned to games. (like it always does when we are together) and I was speculating about something.

I play Dark Age of Camelot, an MMORPG that has relatively recently made an allowance that you can log multiple characters on a single account provided they are on the same machine. With a powerful enough machine, this could be way cool. I'd like to try with desktop res set to 1600x1200 then launch 4 instances of the game in windowed mode, each set to 800x600 and play them on a "quartered" screen. I'm going to try it with 2 instances in a bit just for research but I know it will run like a dog on this old box.

I hope that plaque is made of solid platinum, because you could have put that system together (minus all the fancy brand-name AlienCrap) for about half that.

Wow, that's a really nice system that you're bragging about. But, it's still not as good as mine! Check my sig! Whoooooo!!!! :D

Wow, didn't realize it had been nearly 2 years - the alienware is semi-out-of-date, so I'd thought I'd post an update and see if anyone had any suggestions for a new pc/laptop specs ?
Yes. See my sig.

Can I borrow your time machine so I can get me one of those?

You could, but there's a time-consuming course involved, in which you'll learn about how not to disrupt the space/time continuum. You do remember what happened when Doc Brown and Marty McFly made a mess of things back in '85, don't you?

Is it in any way affliated with this guy?

Price: ~$1600-1800
Mobo: ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 3700+ @ 2.2 GHz
Ram: 2 GB PC3200
Video Card: 256 MB nVidea 7800 GTX (saving up for a second)
System Drive: Seagate 120 GB
Storage Drive: Seagate 200 GB (saving up for one of those 500 or 750 GB drives)
Soundcard: I have one, can't remember what brand, but my mobo has a pretty nice 5.1 card that's pretty impressive for a built-in card
Drive: Lite-On 16X DVD+-RW, TDK 48X CD-RW
Case: An Aspire one, can't remember exactly which one off the top of my head
Capture Card: Some no-name, but it works pretty well
Monitor: Samsung SyncMaster 915N 19" Flatscreen LCD (saving up for a second someday since my video card supports two monitors!! but I doubt it'll ever happen...)

I believe that's all there is to my system. It's a custom build, wasn't too expensive, and it drills through anything out there. I play Oblivion at 1280x1024 at nearly full details and it only lags a little when I turn my view rapidly.
