Ps3 vs Wii vs 360. Which to choose which to choose?

I've chosen based off what I know now- which one would you pick, if you could only pick one?

Me? Nintendo Wii: Because its got everything I want.

I'm shifting from violent, magic filled video games to nicer, less-magical influenced non-violent games

Due to religious reasons. Now, usually, these sorts of games come in short supply in the fun category. The Wii, however, is different. Nintendos really pushing 1st party support- and they don't make violent games- and their games are often sheer brilliance (Mario Galaxy is my most hyped game right now, looks sweet) of course, they do have a tendancy towards magic (Zelda, for instance) but I can ignore those. Sonys 1st party games strike out in this category, same with Microsofts.

Great games

Sub-category in this: Not only does nintendo have clean games- nintendo has good games. Their track record is great. And, even if you don't like nintendo games- I like nintendo games. I don't care what anyone else says, I like them, so meh.

Virtual Console

Is also a absolute must have. Nintendo 64 games for download for reasonably cheap? I'm sold :D I'm guessing they'll be no more than $10 american which means they'll be able $15-20 NZ which is cool with me. I loved N64 games- some of them anyway- and it'll be great to download them and play them- espeically some multiplayer ones (Diddy kong racing anyone?) I also have some games to catch up on. Namely, the mario series, which I missed out on in the early stages.

Its cheap!!!

This is important for me, because New Zealand is a very expensive country to live in. I need all the cash I can get, and the Wii is going to be cheap. Bummer on the lack of in-built harddrive space, but 512 MB's will be enough for me for quite some time, since I won't be downloading too much too soon (not rich enough). Its also got free online gameplay- which Microsoft doesn't have- and is cheap right off the bat- which the PS3 sure ain't. $1000 for a ps3? (Price here) No thank you. I'm going to be saying no to the ps3 for a couple of years, but will probably end up buying one eventually.

Intutive games

I'm really hoping it comes bundled with Wii sports. If so, I might take the plunge and actually buy some other controllers (will be hard on the wallet though, they'll cost at least $50 each) and give them out to my family. Then, we'll be able to hopefully play games together- something I've been dreaming of for ages.

Also hoping the Wii will have a microphone (long shot I know but hey I can hold out hope) so that they'll have a singing game like singstar- which is brilliant and my non-gaming friends/sister/parents would play that if it had non-nintendo songs and had licsenced songs (highly unlikely)

I'm also hoping this diet game will be good. Not that I need a diet, but I need exercise. I won't be able to play DDR anytime soon *cries* which is one thing I'm sad about with the wii, I want DDR bad. But anyway, I need something to fill the void- I'm hoping this will be good.

Basically, it all comes down to these factors: Clean games, Good games, affordability. Thats why I'm picking nintendo. I haven't been this excited over video games in.. well, I don't know how long. I WANT A WII. REALLY, REALLY BAD. I'm even setting aside $600- which is a huge amount for me O__O I NEED A WII. It has so many things like wiiconnect24 that will make the games great... ARGH NEED A WII.
I chose Nintendo Wii. The games for the 360 don't interest me...just the same old, same old. Didn't even like the original Xbox game collection.

The PS3 is too pricey. I'd rather shell out for PC parts than buy that thing...i'll wait for it to drop $100 or so...which it WILL.

The Nintendo Wii is my top choice...I like the game selection, the controller, the options, the price. It's just over-all my favorite system.

Speaking of Square-Enix....I bet they are chomping at the bit to get their hands on the Wii hardware to mess around with the new controller. I suspect we will see some really revolutionary things from them for Wii.

Ah then name grows on you. You just have to let the initial shock work out.

Except we saw the announcement of the official name the day it happened. We still will only call it the Revolution.

A day that will live forever in infamy in the history of the Black Hole. And it was the Pete that broke the nasty news.

Silly Nintendo. Interesting, revolutionary console, stupid name.

Nintendo knows it doesn't need an awesome name to sell consoles, though, and nothing got the gaming community talking about and looking hard at the console itself like announcing that it would be named the Wii. Silly name, sure, but a brilliant move on Nintendo's part.

LOL on a serious note I don't think many gamers are really turned off by the name. Over on the Nintendo forums I heard that Amazon stopped preorders after 90 mins because they were getting so many.

Agreed. If I decide not to buy it, it'll be because I decide the games and features aren't worth the money. But if I do buy it, I'm taking masking tape, writing "Revolution" on it, and then taping over the name on my system.

LOL Yeah you could do that. I am going to wait maybe a year or so before I get it after the price drop.

How many of those orders are legit though? Chances are Ebay will have nearly a thousand of any of the two systems at launch for sale to make money. I hate how some people practice cut throat pricing.

Well hey, that's our free economy for you. Supply and demand. Profit by buying low and selling high. :)

Well, I already own the 360. I was the only girl in line at midnight last November 22. The boys in the store were so angry, because I had the first pre-order, which meant I got the first system. I had to be escorted to my car by the police to keep someone from stealing it!

The 360, however, isn't all its cracked up to be. I love Oblivion, but that's about it. As a girl gamer, I'm not very into first person shooters or other such games.

I'm looking forward to both the Wii and the PS3, although I must say that the price tag on the PS3 is going to make it more difficult to own. I don't know about the rest of you, but this college grad doesn't have $600.00 to just be throwing around, nor $100 per game.
As for the Wii, it will be priced more reasonably, as will its games. I'm looking forward to being able to play classics like Startropics or Duckhunt again with their downloading system, but all in all, I hope the Wii will be played to a more mature audience than the Gamecube was. What does it say that after lightning struck my house, the GCN was the only system that didn't get replaced?

Careful not to label all girl gamers with the same brush you paint yourself. While I understand that girls give preferential treatment to role-playing games over others, that doesn't mean that they don't play first-person shooters and fighting games as well.

PS3 will be the best system for graphics and game selection. The price, however, is a HUGE strike against it. Won't be surprised if Nintendo wins this one.

360 has no chance unless they stop focusing entirely on FPS and sports games. There are no stand-out action or role-playing games (with the exception of Oblivion, and one game is not going to sell enough systems to put it ahead of Sony and Nintendo).

I think Nintendo has the right strategy though - focus on FUN GAMES rather than simply trying to look the best or have the most features. And I wish the gaming industry would realize that there is still a HUGE market of players out here who DON'T care about online play on a console. Yes, it has it's place, but it is NOT what the entire gaming community should revolve around, and that's what Microsoft is trying to do (and Sony is jumping onboard with that).

Didn't mean to make such a broad, blanket statement. I was half-asleep when I posted it. ^_^

Trust me the orders on Amazon are legit. Unlike ebay it isn't a place where individuals are trying to make money. Acutally amazon is also handling Toy's R Us. When I say that they are legit they are legit. I can't say why because of a confidentiality thing I had to sign.
