Well if we-re looking back a G-cube Nintendo promised us plenty of third party games and games for adults on that G-cube but where are they now? you only think of like 6 or 7 M games on the console and some of those are ports. its true that nintendo has some really good first party games but I think the will wind up on the wayside like sega and become a game developement house rather than a console manufacturer.
And I believe you're going to have to rethink that once the sales figures from the Wii start to get out.

from what I have been hearing it may not be the best thing to get one of the first anyway. I don't have enough money to waste on that one either. Also I hear that they are having heat issues because of the cell processor

Yeah, I'm feeling you on the not enough money aspect. I'm sitting here, looking the fact that I have to move, and looking at the $600 price tag. Now, true, there's the little girl in the back of my mind somewhere, (unfortunately, she's a gamer), yelling "Get it! Get it! You have the money!" ...But thankfully, so far, I've managed to shut that voice up. As for heat issues, I worry about those too.

I've been told NEVER to buy the first ones out. Usually buggy.

I've been fortunate in my computer - I ignored that advice and it still worked out (but the G4 iMacs were so CUTE when they came out).

I was lucky with my 360. I'm not going to push my luck with a PS3. If it's anywhere near as sensitive as the PS2, I'll end up with a dead PS3 within a few weeks. I've had to replace my PS2 three times since it came out, and I didn't even have a launch model.

....back on topic though, I'm afraid that the first versions of the PS3 to come out will be more sensitive to minor bumps and things of the sort that are infamous in my house, and I really don't want to spend $600 to have something break within a week, ya know?

I think I'm just going to wait out a price drop and see what other people have to say about it. That, and $60-$100 a game is ridiculous.

Ok back to the consoled wars thing...
Ok I will agree with the guy who one page ago said That consoled will one day just be low grade pc's but dont think that that is what will make nintendo sucessful. for one thing these so call "new innovations" in gaming dont really bring in a wider audience no matter how much nintendo treis to pretend that they do. you know why? because they are harder to figure out thatn the old stuff nintendo says this will be easy but from the reports Ive heard the controls are often way to touchy this coupled with the third drought that nintendo is in because they insist on calling themselves and family game company and never letting an m game slide spell disaster for the wii sure it will be good at first a lot of fun first party games theat are intuitive and good to gamer but after a while 3rd parties will loss intrest and nintendo will work its self to crap trying to keep up with the demand for new games soon youll see stuff like Zelda Hockey and other stupid gimmicks Ohh and dont say that nintendo is gonna let companies develope M games this time cause all Ive seen is Red Steel and I think that is just to sucker some people into buying the system. Ps3 and X 360 are just low grade computers so my prediction takes us farther back the the Nintendo-sega wars to a time when video games were all on PC. yep Im thinking that there will be 2 kinds of PC office PCs and Gaming PCs the end of the consoled is near!

Dude, seriously, learn to use punctuation.

While it wouldn't surprise me to see the PlayStation and Xbox brands morph into low-end PCs as gaming progresses, there will ALWAYS be a market for consoles. To say the end of consoles is near is silly, because what will happen is that companies like Sony and Microsoft will be pushing their game-PCs (PS and Xbox) at $500+ while a company like Nintendo (and perhaps another competitor, like Sega or maybe a new brand) will market gaming-specific machines for $200-$300. The incredibly large amount of support the Wii already has based on price alone is a good indication that the market for low-cost consoles will not be disappearing anytime soon.

As far as M-Rated Nintendo games, I'm not going to listen them all here, but just go to GameStop and surf the Gamecube list of games. Mortal Kombat, Resident Evil, Metal Gear, and plenty of others are there. Nintendo expanded their library after the N64 but too many people just write them off as a kiddie company because of the N64's rather limited library. Times have changed, and Nintendo has adapted.

Honestly, the only big M-Rated game that hasn't been on a Nintendo console yet is Grand Theft Auto (not that it should be) but I seem to remember Nintendo saying they plan to bring some form of GTA to the Wii (I could be wrong, but I thought I heard that on Gamespot or something).

There was a big uproar when San Andreas got ported to Xbox, mostly because of the PlayStation fanboys. Probably the same thing will happen if the next gets ported to the Revolution.

Just so you know...we may see Metal Gear on the Wii. :) Wii DOES have the biggest support of 3rd parties. Everyone wants to make a game with the Wii-mote.

I dunno, I can't quite see the advantage of the controller in a Metal Gear game. In first person, yeah, but unless they have you use an attachment, I think the controls would just be a pain.

You know, I would've agreed with you three years ago. Then they released Metal Gear: Acid, and I realized they've got no qualms about moving outside the traditional playstyle of Metal Gear games.

That was also on a handheld, though. I can't see there being a whole lot of support for a very non-standard metal gear game on a next-gen console. Maybe, but I just don't see it being anywhere near as popular as a traditional one.
