Hear my cry, Merciful King,
I've lost sight of things above;
slowly replacing it's promises with
false delusions of an earthly peace.
Hear my call, Lamb of God,
The just man has fallen seven times -
giving ear to the seducing doctrines
which buried the glimpse of eternity.
Hear my heart, O Prince of Peace,
Purge it of it's wickedness, as I remember
in my shame the soul-cleansing blood;
forgive me of my transgressions.
May Your grace be sufficient, My Shepherd, My Judge,
For I know that this is not a battle I can fight on my own.
Bless me with remembrance, Holy Spirit,
Instill in me the Word of God, that I may be
comforted in all my troubles, keeping the promises
which sustained the saints of the past.
For even they fell short of Your glory, but Your mercy kept them whole.
"My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers
temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith
worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work,
that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing."
"That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than
of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might
be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing
of Jesus Christ:"
"Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial
which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened
unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of
Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed,
ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. If ye be reproached
for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of
glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil
spoken of, but on your part he is glorified."
