Can't think of anything for my life as a whole, but my CF-existence can be best summed up in these two titles, one song and one documentary:

I had had very little previous contact with American culture and especially with American Conservative Christianity before arriving in the CF. Coming from Scandinavian culture, the promised land of secularism, welfare, feminism and liberalism, I was used to think of those things as a norm and the culture shock in CF was a huge one. I'm mostly over that part by now though, or at least I've learnt to pretend that I somehow understand you guys

I've met fun, awesome, thoughtful and very interesting people in CF whom I'd be happy to actually meet in real life, but whenever I think of that, I soon enough remember this tiny little watery obstacle called The Atlantic Ocean. In other forums I've been active, it used to be like "hey, do you wanna go to have a coffee some time?" but in CF it's like "Hey do you want to take a flight with a price tag of 2 000 $ and which lasts for a day or should I or... actually nevermind, let's forget about that...."
