CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm confused.
Split Rock, I know the above post is old, but can you explain to me why you agreed with the above statement?
I suspect I was agreeing that the spiritual truths of scripture do not have to conflict with science, whether they are correct or not.

There are people that have all the gifts. Many people would be doing good to have enough of God in their life to just have one of the gifts. Also there is the fruit of the Spirit and if we do not produce any fruit then we most likely do not have the Holy Spirit of God in our lives. Some Christians say we are not to judge people, we are to be fruit inspectors.

I don't think I've ever met anyone with any of these gifts. Do they keep them in a special restricted area somewhere in America?

The gifts of God are for the people of God. If you do not belong to God then you would know nothing about the Spiritual gifts.

There is a difference between a vague feeling that one is special and actually having a gift. One is a baseless belief based on ego, self-importance and the need to feel superior and the other produces real testable results in the real world. Guess which one you're talking about.
