Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?

As it is written:
"For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered."

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the futre, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Rom 8:35-39

I love these verses because it reminds me that God's love is unfailing regardless of circumstances God's love will always be there for me. God's love is powerful.

2 Corinthians 6:16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said:

“ I will dwell in them
And walk among them.
I will be their God,
And they shall be My people.”

What a treasure! God in us! I can't express how it stirs me to be called "My people". You see, there is nothing that can take the place of the Lord. There's nothing this world offers, no person, no thing. He is tops. And to think He feels this way about me!

Therefore I will have no idols in my life. I will make sure nothing creeps in as a substitute, nothing I would love more than the Lord. I am His temple, His dwelling place. What an honor.

Isaiah 61:9 And their offspring shall be known among the nations and their descendants among the peoples. All who see them [in their prosperity] will recognize and acknowledge that they are the people whom the Lord has blessed.

I use this scripture for my children. I believe it is the Lord's desire for His blessing to be seen on not only me, but my children as well, in such a way that they know it is of the Lord. I believe it is a testimony to those without God to be drawn to God as they see His goodness displayed on us.

Here it is in another version.
Their descendants will be recognized
and honored among the nations.
Everyone will realize that they are a people
the Lord has blessed.

Can I revive an old thread? Let's see what it takes to awaken the dead?!

This was in my daily reading yesterday and it hit me really hard, for the first time, though I have read it many!

Proverbs 2: 1 - 11
1 My son, if you accept my words
and store up my commands within you, 2 turning your ear to wisdom
and applying your heart to understanding,
3 and if you call out for insight
and cry aloud for understanding,
4 and if you look for it as for silver
and search for it as for hidden treasure,
5 then you will understand the fear of the LORD
and find the knowledge of God.
6 For the LORD gives wisdom,
and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
7 He holds victory in store for the upright,
he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless,
8 for he guards the course of the just
and protects the way of his faithful ones.
9 Then you will understand what is right and just
and fair—every good path.
10 For wisdom will enter your heart,
and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.
11 Discretion will protect you,
and understanding will guard you.

How amazing that the Lord tells us the same thing so many times throughout the Bible, yet we don't get it. He tells us in the gospels to "ask, seek, knock." He tells us that if we have faith, we will move mountains. Yet we still question Him. Here, he says if we are willing to simply ask Him for understanding of His words, He will give it to us. What?! Say that again? If we are willing to ask Him for understanding of His words, He is willing to help us understand. AMAZING. So infantile yet so profound.

My favorite, which is part of my signature now, is romans 12:2:
Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God.

It reminds me that Christ is transforming me, I am truly a new creation. I used to think I could never change, never be re-worked or re-tooled, I was forever stuck as who/what I was, but I have come to understand that this is truly a promise from God that He will transform and renew me! Praise God and Hallelujah!

Sometimes a scripture comes at just the right moment, doesn't it? Although never considered a favorite of mine, this wise proverb spoke to me yesterday, and a fresh revelation was enjoyed. Maybe it will speak to you, in your everyday situation. May we have the wisdom to love those who rebuke us!

Whoever corrects a scoffer wins abuse;
whoever rebukes the wicked gets hurt.
A scoffer who is rebuked will only hate you;
the wise, when rebuked, will love you.
- Proverbs 9:7-8

Pslam 91

When I first picked up the Word of God seriously and was yearning to comprehend a deeper understanding this was the first scripture that spoke to me. Even though I didn't know the pure meaning of the Psalm it compelled me to not give up. Looking back because of this scripture I was delivered because this scripture is prophesy of Our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen and with all my might I thank you Jehovah for my salvation through the precious name of Jesus.

I like to be rebuked for then I know God truly loves me and is keeping me out of harms way. His truth is my sheild and buckler!

One of my ALLTIME favorites, and a scripture God has used to carry me to and through many circumstances is 2 Timothy 1:7. He has repeatedly used that very verse to shore me up, and then often taken me to more pearls in a precious string He has placed around my very neck.

2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV) For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Fear, doubt, and worry may come, but they always dissolve when we seek the Holy Spirit's power to comfort us, when we receive the love God has freely given us, and believe Him for the sound mind He's blessed us with. I literally couldn't even estimate the number of times God has brought that scripture to my mind, causing me to remember that it is His power, love and His design that enables me to overcome those firey darts that just keep on coming. I praise and thank God for who He is, and that He has drawn me to Himself, so I can know Him. What a precious place He has given us, may the Holy Spirit empower and comfort us to stay with Him in that place!

...for I know whom, I have believed, and I'm persuaded that HE IS ABLE to keep all that I entrust to Him. 2 Timothy 1:12

John 14:21 The one who has My commands and keeps them is the one who loves Me. And the one who loves Me will be loved by My Father. I also will love him and will reveal Myself to him." 22 Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, "Lord, how is it You're going to reveal Yourself to us and not to the world?"
23 Jesus answered, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word. My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. HCSB

I want to see Jesus. I want Him revealed to me. As I have acted on this scripture, keeping His commands, I have seen Him. Not with my physical eyes, but evidences, and by the spirit. I KNOW He is here, and His love is so real to me. This is of greater value to me than anything else - to think He will make His home in me.

Am I really making a home for Him? Am I seeing Him in my life? If this is waning, could it be I am not keeping His Word?

Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go."

How good to know that the Lord my God is with me! Knowing this makes me bold and confident and removes fear. In today's world there are lots of opportunities for fear and I can pass them all by knowing that God is with me. As it says in Romans, if God be for me who can be against me?

...Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. <-----> Matthew 4:4 also Luke 4:4

Our greatest need lies within , with our " inner man " , and God's words have the gracious and merciful virtue and capacity to nourish , heal , deliver , and resurrect ; but those words can easily be taken out of context , and then they consequently lose their force and power ; for their truthfulness is thereby degraded / diminished . So , it is essential for us to consider each of God's words in relationship to all of His Word - for each of His words serve to help define , affirm , and establish the proper context of other related Divinely inspired words . For this reason , it also greatly helps to study the original languages in which Scripture was written and the definitions of those words , along with the " root meaning " behind them - and this is easy to do with the help of a Strong's Concordance , which can be downloaded , along with many other Bible Study aids for free ( Donations accepted ) at e-Sword - the Sword of the LORD with an electronic edge [ That's www.e-sword.net ]

Okay , here's one for the theme of the thread's sake ... ( just reread preface )

He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
<-----> John 1:11-13

A lot of folks ( myself included ) were conceived and brought into this world under unideal circumstances , and this can play torment on the mind and self-image ... but along comes the above passage , and there is another perspective to embrace , one which is Heavenly , one which trumps all earthly perspectives , and it's bye bye torment and hello thanksgiving , as we are indeed " born again " , by the incorruptible seed - The Word of God !

Jesus takes the downtrodden and makes them the uplifters , to demonstrate the power of God's Love !

Thankyou Lord !

John 15:13-"Greater love has no man than this, that he would lay down his life for his friends."
We are called to imitate Christ, and although nothing can compare to His sacrifice, what expression would show a greater understanding of His love than our own self-sacrifice? As Christians, we should have no fear of death, and if giving my life would save another's, I say so be it.

1 Corinthians 13:4 Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily.
5 It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God's love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong].

6 It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail.
7 Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening].

This is one of my favorites because it spells out for me exactly what love is. This is what love looks like. This is where the rubber meets the road. Relationships can be hard, especially if you are mistreated, and let's face it, we all are mistreated at times. Yet we are to love - no matter what.

I find as I practice this, as I live in love, my joy is full.

Psa 92:1 It is good to praise the LORD
and make music to your name, O Most High,
Psa 92:2 to proclaim your love in the morning
and your faithfulness at night,
Psa 92:3 to the music of the ten-stringed lyre
and the melody of the harp.
Psa 92:4 For you make me glad by your deeds, O LORD ;
I sing for joy at the works of your hands.
Psa 92:5 How great are your works, O LORD ,
how profound your thoughts!
Psa 92:6 The senseless man does not know,
fools do not understand,
Psa 92:7 that though the wicked spring up like grass
and all evildoers flourish,
they will be forever destroyed.
Psa 92:8 But you, O LORD , are exalted forever.
Psa 92:9 For surely your enemies, O LORD ,
surely your enemies will perish;
all evildoers will be scattered.
Psa 92:10 You have exalted my horn [1] like that of a wild ox;
fine oils have been poured upon me.
Psa 92:11 My eyes have seen the defeat of my adversaries;
my ears have heard the rout of my wicked foes.
Psa 92:12 The righteous will flourish like a palm tree,
they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon;
Psa 92:13 planted in the house of the LORD ,
they will flourish in the courts of our God.
Psa 92:14 They will still bear fruit in old age,
they will stay fresh and green,
Psa 92:15 proclaiming, "The LORD is upright;
he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him."

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believes on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. <-----> John 14:12

This verse intrigues my inner man with a strong sense of awe and extreme opportunity .

And reminds me of a time when I was feeling very weak and incapable , and started giving in to excuses for being so ... when my thoughts gave way , to The Voice which speaks from on High , and said to me , " The only limitations you have , are those you choose to put upon yourself - I AM not limited ! "

Thankyou Lord Jesus !
