...? the only thing I have at the moment is a first aid kit in the car..I don't really have a kit bag or anything ready as there hasn't been any warning of any natural disasters that need to prepare for.

But I've always got my bible in the house or bag or somewhere (as well as on my heart).
Just wondered what everyone else has.
I did have a Civil Defence bag that had a list of stuff on it but I think we used the bag for something else?! Although I know where everything is, it's not all in one place.

Ashamed to say we do not have an "official" emergency kit. Yes I need to be busy and make one. Everyone needs one of these prepper or not. Every time we go to Sam's club I eye the Large First Aid kit as a starter. To that we would add non-medical necessities and other essentials. I do not want it bulky in the event we need to bug out to our secondary location. It has to be ready to go and well stocked.

I don't have a bag packed yet. Although my husband has several. I keep trying to ask him what I'll need to pack, but he tells me that all I need is a change of clothing. He has everything else covered. I'd much rather be prepared myself though instead of depending on someone else. This is what I plan on putting in one:

extra clothing: sensible clothing. A pair of jeans and a long sleeve short with a few extra under garments.
food: snack bars and instant meals, water
flash light
knife
pistol/amoo
emergency sleeping blanket

That's all I can think of :(

well, I'm going to take an extra set of keys in case I lose one.
The keys to the Kingdom.
Bible written on my heart which is the word of my testimony. Oh also, white robes washed in the blood. can't forget THAT.
And..Oil of the Holy spirit.

think that's it.
I don't think you'd need much else as God is going to make these dead bones live.

Psalm 91 is my spiritual emergency psalm.

everything else...will be provided for.

Hooray i found my spare key.

And the civil defence bag.

And checked the torches and batteries.

And matches. I think its a matter of, knowing where everything is and whats necessary and if you run out, go to the store for more.

I have no idea what all those acronyms mean.
For the car, dont you need a spare tyre and a jumper lead in case it breaks down?

For going without power and water, you may need a portable stove, a bucket with plastic bags or a spade for the toilet.
Also recommended is nappies and bottles for your babies. If you have young children.

I know some refugees who left their country, think it was Bosnia, with just the clothes on their back.

IFAK stands for Improved First Aid Kit. EDC/GHB stands for Every Day Carry/Get Home Bag. BOB stands for Bug Out Bag.

I was just talking about survival items. Car emergency kits are standard.

A lifestraw just enables you to drink crap water without it making you ill or killing you for awhile

Oh.
Well as long as you know what it means i have no idea and wouldnt remember.

Also I have no clue what power bars or lifestraw is, not to mention speed loaders.

Power bars are a ready made food that contains lots of carbohydrates and protein. Most of them come already wrapped in mylar and will last for years under cool, dry conditions.

A lifestraw as Fireinfolding mentioned, is a water filter that removes most contaminants, bacteria, spores, and heavy metals.

A speedloader is a simple device used for revolvers to contain a full load of ammunition. Usually 5-6 round. Simply insert the pre-loaded speedloader, release the ammunition, and close the cylinder. For semiautomatic weapons, you have magazines with contain the ammunition.

Silly question but why would you need speedloaders in an emergency kit.
I can understand having maybe a rifle, in case you wanted to go hunting and shoot some wild pigs or something. But i dont understand the speedloaders.
