I honesty did not report you uphill hetenza can verify to that... sorry you think of me i would do something like that.... That is why i said it was not nice so you can edit...not because I would report you.my response to your post, ended up on 181, Philo.
and as for your report, it may be a flame, but it was certainly called for.
care to scan for other things you can report? Might as well get them all out of the way at the same time.
We were having a conversation about it somewhereSure thing. Now we can get back to any Protestants showing me where Scripture says Scripture alone should be counted.
Nobody's said those words, your question isSure thing. Now we can get back to any Protestants showing me where Scripture says Scripture alone should be counted.
Doing good works is the life he calls you to live.I'll agree, emotions are not to be our focus, though since most people are emotions, I'd also think emotions have their part to play as well. We're to be doers of the word, I don't think how we worship will land us in hell, as long as we love God and want to help, perhaps that is a better form of worship, and not just doing good works or anything, but living the life he has called us to live. Hi everyone, hope you all had a nice lent..
One thing is for sure UB.... you never present any evidence for your claims... just fat words. Sorry but Montalban is right you never stick with one issue and find problems with what we ask. You never anwered to Benedicta or me...
Yep... His religion is him reading the bible and following what he thinks it says. Don't matter if it may be wrong- his conscious is what matters.
Where I come from that's called relativism..
Sorry Uphill, but it's only because I care for you, i am telling you this.
Catholics don't lack questioning and neither does the Orthodox. and questioning is one thing and good to do but being your own pope? deciding what is true and what is not for yourself-- that's relativism. The same could be said at the other end of the spectrum. Lack of questioning, although those in charge have shown questionable motives.
When we stand at judgement, who stands with us?
Do you consider yourself more highly because you aren't "protestant"? Out of curiosity, many have this interesting ego and seem to act this way. Could be wrong though, hard to see emotions and attitudes over the 'net.

Nobody's said those words, your question is
ambiguous.
Counted as what?
That seems to be happening a lot. It's a mystery wrapped in an enigma, made to look like something ordinary.I posted but it got lost, mentioning that you and
i had discussed SS a bit earlier but that you accused
me of stating things that I hadnt said.
I would be happy to discuss this if you clarify your
questions and try not to twist my words.

The Bible's the opus major of Christianity.
It's not the only work though!
Sure. The questions you ask though are within a belief system that I question altogether. To an extent. Many of the questions though, have been asked before.
I am probably not the first to ask a priest the questions I ask. I am most certainly not the first Orthodox to ever ask those questions.
absolutely. I've learned enough to know that I don't know enoughOne of the first steps to wisdom is to understand just how little I know.
Even Protestants have Bible commentaries!
Based on what though? You object, to what, based on what?Sure. The questions you ask though are within a belief system that I question altogether.
And like the proverb 'those that forget the past are condmned to relive it' I look to the wise people of the past for guidence.absolutely. I've learned enough to know that I don't know enough
alright. I retract and apologize.I honesty did not report you uphill hetenza can verify to that... sorry you think of me i would do something like that.... That is why i said it was not nice so you can edit...not because I would report you.
God bless,
Philothei
yep , her religion is her forcing beliefs into what the Pope says the bible says - don't matter if it may be wrong, her leadership is what matters.Yep... His religion is him reading the bible and following what he thinks it says. Don't matter if it may be wrong- his conscious is what matters.
where I come from, I call that spiritual laziness.Where I come from that's called relativism..
ditto.Sorry Uphill, but it's only because I care for you, i am telling you this.
baloney. They lack questioning. Not that they don't ask questions, but they automatically accept whatever is told them by those they have chosen as having "all the answers."Catholics don't lack questioning and neither does the Orthodox. and questioning is one thing and good to do but being your own pope? deciding what is true and what is not for yourself-- that's relativism.
ah, not the first to ask.... but you have to believe what he says, or no longer be Orthodox. You must not question the ANSWERS you get, because they have it completely right, and to disagree is heresy. To an extent. Many of the questions though, have been asked before.

we don't consider Bible commentaries scripture, nor authoritative, nor a source for rule of faith, or.... anything that we consider the bible. False arguement.Even Protestants have Bible commentaries!
quoting to try and move it to front page.alright. I retract and apologize.
my patience is rather low right now.
