You say you want an evolution?
For decades now the hands-down biggest conflict between scintific and religion has been the evolution-vs,-creation debate. The scopes trial took place in 1926,resulting in a slap-on-the-wrist fine of 100$ for John Scopes' effrontery in teacging evolution in public schools. But the trial didn't exactly end settle the matter.Since then, problems almost arise whever evolution and education cross paths.
Perhaps you've taken a stand on this issue without ever giving the mattermuch thought. So let's take a look at some of the basic beliefs on both sides of the issue.
The creationist postion is based on literal interpretation of Scripture. The creation of both the earth and of human beings was intentioanl work of God,created from nothing, and on His time-table.God was involved personally and lovingly in forming both a habitat and a humanity.Humans were created in the image of God,and God himself breathed life into them. The 1st people, along with the plants and aniamls created before them, were provided with the ability to reproduce.
The thery of evolution suggests that life was perhaps equally miraculuos, but not so intentional.Billions or years ago,some-where,somehow,right coditions formed to generate a life force from inanimate matter.First a cell, then 2,then 4,and given enough time, the complexities increased until we now have a massive varitey of aniaml speciaes, including 6 billion humans.Evolutionists have traditionally rejected the creationist stance because they perfer answers based on science rather than faith.Yet recently the original theory of evolution has been questioned bt certain scientisys and deep thinkers.Scientists who also have chosen to be Christians are left to search for truth in both areas as they attempt to fill the holes in both their knowledge and thier faith
