  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I like so many different kinds of music I will list some:

GABBER: My favorite genre. Very hard, dark bass drum driven techno usually in straight 4/4 time. Very popular in japanese and dutch underground club scene; this japanese.
Teranoid's VIRGIN F done to a Final Fantasy/Xenosaga/Kingdom Hearts AMV

JAZZ: Thank you band experience for reminding me that Jazz exists, I have recently refallen in love with it. This Blue Rondo a la Turk performed by the Dave Brubeck Quartet. Awesome song because switches between 9/8 and 4/4 time.

Orchestral (Classical, Romantic, Modernist, Minimalist):
Excerpt from Gustav Holst's the planets, this movement is my favorite: Mars, Bringer of War. Modernist orchestra

Orchestral (Minimalist): Minimalism is hyper-repetitive (with some variation) orchestral music usually designed to repeat a theme over and over and over with minor variations or changes in instruments. This is an excerpt from Steve Reich's "Music for 18 Musicians" - Section IIIa

More Minimalism:
Terry Riley's "In C" performed by a percussion ensemble. This piece was basically the first in the genre and it's a piece with few rules. Basically there are 53 musical phrases; you start from the beginning and you can play each phrase as many times as you want, or don't want. Recommended 35 musicians but can be upwards of 100. Musicians can join in the performance and leave when they want, any pitched instrument is acceptable for performance. Typicial play time is as short as 30 minutes to as long as 18 hours.
