• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

After awhile you learn the subtle difference
between holding a hand and chaining a soul,
And you learn that love doesn't mean
leaning and company,
and it doesn't mean security.

And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts
and presents aren't promises,
And you begin to accept your defeats
with your head up and your eyes open,
With the grace of an adult, not the grief of a child,
And you learn to build all your roads on today
Because you never know what will happen tomorrow.

After awhile you learn that
even sunshine burns if you get too much.
And you learn to plant you own garden
and decorate your own soul,
Instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.

And you learn that you really can endure,
That you really are strong,
And you really do have worth.

I didn't see anything about JESUS in that post.

I have learned in my daily walk with Jesus Christ, that is it ONLY IN HIM that I have true worth and value. The values of this world fade away, and life is sooo fragile, and it can be turned upside down in less than the snap of your fingers. I can not trust this world or my own ability to ''keep my head up''. I know that I can lose everything I have in this world. Many have experienced that. So what do we really learn in life??? We only learn from what we experience ourselves, but no matter what we do with our lives, it has no eternal value, unless we include Jesus Christ in all that we are and all that we have and do. That's how it is with me at least.

Oh NorwayUnn, please forgive me for being so vague

After awhile you learn the subtle difference
between holding a hand and chaining a soul,
And you learn that love doesn't mean

God's kind of love is directed towards others, not inward towards ourselves. God's love is utterly unselfish, and we should love unslfishly. love is the greatest attribute of God Himself. Love involves unselfish service to others. And to show this kind of love, shows that you care.

And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts
and presents aren't promises,
And you begin to accept your defeats
with your head up and your eyes open,

With the grace of an adult, not the grief of a child,
And you learn to build all your roads on today
Because you never know what will happen tomorrow.
As believers, we are to be upright and strong, and not let Satan control our circumstances. Those who place their faith in God can have this strength and vitality. We may not get another chance tomorrow, because tomorrow we may not be hear.

After awhile you learn that
even sunshine burns if you get too much.
And you learn to plant you own garden
and decorate your own soul,
Instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.

The more we delight in God's presence, the more frutiful we will be. On the other hand, the more we allow those who ridicule God to affect our thoughts and attitudes, the more we separate ourselves from our source of nourishment. We must have contact with unbelievers if we are to witness to them, but we must not join in or imitate their sinful behaviour.

And you learn that you really can endure,
That you really are strong,
And you really do have worth.

how true my dear sister. i learned and am learning this when i experienced a flood in early april of this year. the older i am in the lord the more i realize how much i need him and how little i really know of my lord. i also see how much more i need to include him in everything i do. whereas i thought i loved him so much i see i have a desperate neeed to love him more. jesus help us!
