  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You discover your boss's passcode, and can change the system to cut his pay: do it?

Hi there,

This is sort of a half baked dilemma I dreamed up, not to foster dissent, but rather to elaborate what we mean we say "boss".

You discover your boss's passcode and can change the system to reflect a pay cut, if you know he would never notice (he has so much already) would you do it? Or would your own self-awareness of pretending to be boss of your boss destroy you?

It is a little like the dilemma of how much poison would you swallow yourself to destroy someone else, but the emphasis is on the foundation of the boss-employee relationship rather than the dynamic interplay between the two, since it is a professional relationship.

How exactly would you justify such a move? How many workers would you be thinking of? Would they advise you against it?

Rather than leave this as cut and dried, I would like to point out that there was a guy who did this in real life, when he felt that his employer was holding back pay that he shouldn't be. So its not as if it never happens. (selah)
