This is one thing that I find very puzzling about Christians. Some will want Christian Prayer in public schools. They want to ban gay marriage. Anita Bryant fought against gays having civil rights to not be unlawfully fired or denied housing or health insurance, simply for being gay. If you have seen Milk, you also see how Harvey Milk was fighting against a prop to not only fire gay teachers and not hire any, but to fire any of their allies as well. All of this was based on Scripture.
However, they don't government to do any of the other things that Christ taught, such as feeding the hungry, caring for the poor, the sick, etc. Then they get angry, saying that the government is stealing their money.
I've never been able to understand imposing one's prayers upon children in a public space, but not feeding the poor.
I have wondered if the US is not a modern day Babylon. People in the US often are unaware of what goes on outside their country, unaware of some very unethical things that the US does, demonizes the poor as thieves taking their money when they have more than enough, is focused on material wealth and status, on physical beauty, and even some brands of Christianity are unrecognizable as having any elements of Christ in it. These were many of the sins of Sodom and Gomorrah.
