Well — at least now he knows what a lot of us have been through on this board: the hypocrisy of those who claim to be "loving the sinner and hating the sin" which includes ridicule, put-downs, haughtiness, self-righteousness, smug superiority, fabrications and occasionally outright lies, and a willingness to use the Bible as a weapon to destroy anybody who does not follow the fundamentalist party line.

I guess so. With respect though, UL, I haven't seen very charitable conduct the other way either.

It's not about pointing out the sins of others. This part of the forum is about homosexuality and in society right now, there is a big hoo-ha about homosexual rights. Christians are not going to remain silent. It's not as if we think the sin of homosexuality is worse than others, it's that homosexuality is the topic at hand. If adultery or whatever else was the topic at hand, you'd have just as many people talking about how it is sinful.

Sorry can I take a check? Doesn't the NT scripture say we will die in our sins? Did Jesus not teach this.
The issue is are we promoting a sin we will die in? I think so. Some may not but its kind of core to our faith. I think we have two significantly enough religions here and the historic apostlic one which doesnt claim to hate or judge is being accused of judgeing and hate by the other.
I dont expect to answer to men, but to Jesus, therefore what men see as hate and judgement is not what I have to worry about, what I have to be concerned with is answering to Jesus.
