I get Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Monday off. I could (and hopefully will) probably get a few extra days off too.

My life is one long vacation - I don't work.

I don't have a car so gas prices don't concern me too much. Gas costs about 7$/gal here in Iceland and that is pretty expensive.

I missed it as we travelled a bit to visit friends... and i love Palm Sunday. But i did go to a prayer and pilgrimage retreat on the Saturday before.
-the Namesake is a wonderful movie about 2 generations of an Indian family from Calcutta who immigrate to the US, with themes of cultural displacement and assimilation.-

Are you doing anything special for Good Friday?

I don't celebrate Easter and therefore not Good Friday either. I celebrate Passover and the Feast of Firstfruits (which happens to fall on the same day as Easter this year). (Firstfruits is a biblical holiday that forshaddows Christ's resurection)

Have you seen any good movies lately?

I took the kids to "Night at the Museum" yesterday.

PG....cute.

Negatives: It did use the 3 letter "A" word once, and the Lord's name was taken in vain once. It would have taken nothing from the script to not do that, so I don't know why the writers or producers felt it necessary. The sub-plot was suprisingly a parallel to the 1st The Santa Claus movie. (Funny guy is divorced because his wife doesn't like his approach to career life. His only son is bonding with his ex-wife's current hubby who seems totally put together, so guy gets a new job that is too amazing to be true. By including his son and the girl he has a crush on, they come to admire him, and all live happily ever after.)

Redeeming qualities: Some really cool history characters and facts come out. It made me want to go check out some cool museums soon.
