I haven't planned that far ahead yet. I might pop over to Estonia for the fun of it next week though.

HYE gone on a day trip to buy things across a state line?

(Realized after the fact that Theo and I accidentally started into the wrong game here again!)

Of course.

(Do you even have a "next city" to go to in Iceland, Theo?)

As a matter of fact, we do. A couple of decades ago, I lived about 3 blocks away from the city limits. There was a city ordinance back then (it's been changed since) that stores in Reykjavik couldn't be open past 6 pm. The town of Seltjarnarnes was only a few blocks from where I lived and stores there were open til midnight so, I sometimes went there to shop.

Do you know what volcanoes smell like?

I've seen an erupting volcano. There was molten lava just a few yards from where I stood. Volcanoes smell like sulfer.

Do you have a dog?

(Regarding questions from page 45)
In the immediate post-Soviet period Estonia reminded me of what Paris must have been like in Hemmingway's time: a charming if gritty and somewhat sleezy civilization, with it's own fascinating collection of monuments from the past, trying to crawl out from under its own rubble and re-join the modern world. These days they have pretty much succeeded at modernization in most places, but it is still much cheaper, and more gritty, than Finland.

I've never been to a real live volcano, and it's one of those things I'd like to do, but I imagine the smell would put me off the excitement and romance of the thing.

As far as the above question, pro manicures are really not part of my style.

Now back to simply playing the game: Do you have a fax machine at home?
