(My story about that - we spaced our kids WAAAAAY out, so with our youngest, we were often the older parents of kids on baseball teams or whatever. Once when my youngest indicated to a teammate that I was his mom, the teammate asked "Is your dad real old, too?" Needless to say, I was a little embarrassed at the time, but can laugh about it now!)

Ouch, that's harsh. I've had similar experiences with kids, but usually more so with adults. (foot in mouth disease)
