Out of curiosity, are you aware of the Christians who believe in the "Divine Council", etc ? If I'm not mistaken, this essentially points to Elohim as being plural and multiple beings (in the context of the creation account in Genesis), where as Yahweh was just one of the "Elohim". I can't remember if Yahweh was the chief Elohim over all the Elohim, or if that was El. Yahweh's characteristics are revealed by His actions, and through the representations of His people. This is why He called out a people for his name, initially the Israelite, and consequently the Church. Of course amid both these groups are false believers who misrepresent Yahweh, and fallible humans who sin and make mistakes.

You can't make any statements for them. The first error atheists do is that the "God" feeling in one's heart may be filled with every God or with every divine being. That's untrue, ask a hindu or a buddhist what he feels and then ask an eastern orthodox in Church, you will see that God matters.
Also, could you tell me any reasons why would you prefer to believe in any other God than the Biblical one? I find Him to be the more reliable One. I think almost all the atheists have a strong bias against the Bible and God.

It's peoples' different versions of God, their beliefs about him, and the actions which these beliefs motivate them to take which we criticise. You can't blame or criticise something in which you do not believe, so we don't criticise God, but we do criticise other peoples' actions and statements.To don't believe in God you are very mad at Him.
