Ah, typical American work: Shoddy, rushed, and low-quality.

Yeah, yeah, go ahead and bring up the PS2's launch defects. Xbox had 'em too.

But it's funny how Nintendo's systems always work.

Though you may need to blow into the cartridge a few times. ;)

I heard from a Circuit City worker today, that Microsoft is calling back all the 360's because they run way too hot.
His friend's 360 was shooting out sparks and when he took it apart, the game was melted.
There was a person on the xbox forums who said his grandmothers house burned down, and he broke his leg from jumping out of the window. But that report was not confirmed.

He recieved a bad system, so what. Get a new one.
I'll be surprised if anything comes of this.
And I wouldn't be surprised if a company like Sony was behind it some how.

I seriously doubt that. Microsoft has a history of rushing thier projects to meet close deadlines and for generally having a crappy product. [/font]

Well Sony is even worst. So if you knock the xbox, you're just knocking Sony all the more.

>.< Le'sigh. So much beef over some Xbox 360's having problems. Are you kidding me?! Yes, there are flaws, that's to be expected. Hell, god made you and you're flawed. Gonna bash your lord for making one leg longer than the other by a cm? I certainly hope not.

Hell, I still have problems with the PS2. From what I hear, as well, many do, and probably will forever. The PSP? Huge problems with the launched PSPs.

It's a flaw, and a small precentage of people are experiencing minor problems with one or two games on limited circumstances.

Who says? Microsoft? Of course, do you honestly think theyre going to come out with "Well our stuff was messed up because we rushed."

Ive had my PS2 since the year after it came out, works like a dream and I play it often

The only comment I have is this:
Spend 900-3,500 bucks and get an awesome computer, spend an extra 500 every few years and be happy.

XD Consoles are just whack.
Agreed.

My machine cost me 1700 bucks. Ive had it for 4 years now and it still runs like a dream, purrs like a kitten. I have about a hundred bucks for upgrading when I need it and Ill be good for annother 5 or so years.

Plus games for the PC are WAY cheaper than console. When they initially come out theyre pretty much equal, Ill agree but within a few months, PC titles slink down to the $19.95 rack. I see X-Box games sell for 60 bucks, then 50, then 40, then 35 and they STAY at 35 untill a new system comes out.

PCs are MUCH more addaptable than consoles. You dont have the degree of control with consoles that you do with computers, you cant have any real RTS games. Games like Rome: Total War would be TOTALLY un-workable for the console.

I see people say "Well yeah but you can get a mouse for the consoles." I say at that point you've got a retarded computer. With the money it cost you for the system, the TV your playing it on and the game, I could have bought an AWESOME computer.

AND I can send email, browse the web, talk to friends, do wordprocessing, listen to music, download, and run non-game programs (MAYA etc etc). Consoles are just mastering multiplayer capabilites, something the PCs have had for YEARS.

There is NO game in the world that a console can do that the PC couldnt do better

Meh, I'm not much for PC gaming. I do dabble in it, of course, with Warcraft III and WoW, along with other high attention games such as those, but I don't ticker with what's in the box as I wouldn't know where to begin nor have the funds to do so.

I just prefer spending $200-$400 every few years on a console and then some cash on games.

I also don't like the cons that come with computer gaming. Hacks, viruses, lag (and I have it all over), etc. I like to just plug in and play on my console and enjoy. :)

Ok you spend $1700 on a PC.
I'll spend $400 on a 360 that will smoke your PC.

And I already have a PC, I spent $500 for a 3.3 ghz, 1.5 gigs of ram.

For now, maybe, but in 6 months PCs will be back on top with the new advancements every day. Things I've read say the 360 isn't all that far out in the lead even now.

And all that other stuff you mentioned is false.

Well, except for RTS being TOTALLY unworkable on a console. Yeah, sure they could come up with some elaborate menu system that still wouldn't give anywhere near the level of control you get with a kb/m. And, yeah, they could make a kb/m compatible RTS for the 360. But what they could do doesn't really matter; it's what they actually do that counts.

If someone has the money to burn, PCs will always be tops for gaming because games are made on computers. The 360 is nothing more than a PC optimized for gaming. It's no more powerful than current high end PCs, it just performs better because it has one standard of hardware and games can be optimized for that standard rather than having to be compatible with many different kinds of hardware like a PC game.

I like consoles because I can't afford to build a new PC. That's why I'm looking at spending $150 for a PS2 so I can have a huge stable of games available instead of spending $500 building a new PC that will just be adequate. If I had $3000 to build my dream PC, I wouldn't even be thinking about consoles. I'll probably get a 360 next year when there are some games for it that interest me. So far, Oblivion is the only thing set in stone that looks interesting and it's still months away.

First off, no matter how much fanboyism you have, almost all launches have had issues. PS2, for example, I'm on my fourth one. :p PSP I got lucky, and I was one of the few out there that had a pixel perfect PSP (sounds funny :D). Now the 360. Regardless, yes this does seem to be an issue. I've had a few of my friends complain about their 360 overheating, and now most of the people who were going to get a 360 are now waiting for PS3. I am personally getting all 3 next gen systems as ALL THREE of them have games that I enjoy. In the mean time, I don't enjoy arguing about which system is better. PS3 this, Xbox 360 that. The SNES ownes every single system out there even today, and that machine's specs are laughable compaired to current gen consoles. I equate gameplay and storyline to a good game, not fancy fireworks and graphics. That's why the SNES was the best system, and nothing has beaten it. I am a fanboy of games, not companies.

About the argument of PC's vs Consoles, both have their goods and bads. You can't say one is better then the other, because it's simply not true. How can Halo for the PC or Halo for the Xbox be any different? It's just the platform that it's running on.

All in all, I think we all need to stop pretending that we're getting paid to say this platform or console is better then this one. You don't get any benefit by doing so, so perhaps we all should just keep an open mind and have friendly discussions.

Yes..the 360 has some serious problems...but you can get a new system. It isn't the system that determines it's worth.it's the games...and honestly...that's probably the biggest complaint of the 360..there are not alot of stand out games coming out in the near future...

The vast majority of games do not stay at 35$.
They have a 19.99 favorites selection.
And you can buy used games for far less than that. PC games don't have a lot of used games I noticed. Where as console games have tons of used games at $5 and up.
And what are you worried about money for, you spent 1,700 on a gaming machine.

Consoles can have just as deep a control scheme as a computer can.
Because they can do voice commands, and quick menu options.

And a controller can be just as effective as a mouse and keyboard.
In fact, it's a lot more fun to use the controller than the mouse, because the newbs, are really NEWBS! I love stiff competition, but there is something about mowing down a room full of newbs.
(I'm a newb is some games, shhh don't tell anyone. ;) )
