I think it's interesting in the area of XBox emulation (i.e. running non-XBox games - SNES, Atari, Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, etc. - on the XBox). The XBox's processing speed alone gives it an advantage over Dreamcast emulation, which is currently the easiest since you don't have to mod them (at least, the first batch you didn't; I was lucky - I got an original :D ). That would be my only reason, seeing as how I'm not too big on many XBox titles, and I'd rather as soon buy them instead of going to the hassle of pirating just to save money...it's not worth it.
Have you ever tried to run an SNES emulator on a DC? Yuck. It's no good. The frame-rate just dies.

Both the PS2 and the X-Box do an excellent job of it though.

Yes I have actually. DreamSNES 0.9.8, to be exact. Even though it's from 2002, it does a semi-decent job of it (at least for the games I was using it with anyway - it had a bit of a problem with rendering Super Metroid, but Mega Man 7 and Rockman and Forte didn't lag all that much, IIRC).

Unfortunately I don't have a PS2 or XBox mod so I can't do it on those systems (believe me, I would if I could). Of course, any soldering is out of the question since my dad wouldn't let me near either one to do that to them. If it was a peripheral accessory, it would be a different story (I seem to remember that some PS2 mods are that way, but I'm not sure).

Hmmmm....well I like to mod boxes more than play them. I don't know if that makes sense to any of yall but thats just how I roll. I have done 2 modchip installs and I do tons of softmods. IMHO its your property so you should be able to do whatever you want to it. However when it comes to piracy thats your own personal thing. I can tell you that games do load somewhat faster and its a lot less hassle not having to have your game discs with you.

hey:wave:

an xbox has a standard 8gig hd which can hold about 2 to 3 games on it.

mods arnt bad put it this way if u pay $100 Australian for a game and get wrecked then you cant play it anymore so u burn a copy of it which is no illigal becasue u already own a copy of the game. it is the minority of people that are doing the illigal thing and renting games and then burning them.

Actually it is the majority. Trust me. I have been on the Xbox modding wave for quite awhile now and the majority of people do pirate Xbox games.
