ps2 by far

x-box controllers are way too confusing, though x-box does have some great games...

ps2 i like because well i grew up with play station, they have the games i like, the controller i can deal with and well, they tend to have less problems

as far as gamecube... game cube is teh suck, and yes, the games are way too "kiddish" i really dislike nintendo, too cartoony for my taste

Metroid Prime, F-Zero GX, Resident Evil, Eternal Darkness, and Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes are kiddish? Aren't systems supposed to be about gameplay rather than how "adult" a game is anyway? Have you actually played some of these so called "kiddish" games? Stereotypes are bad.

i am biased against nintendo for multiple reasons

their customer service is terrible, i lived right by the nintendo place in Renton, WA, and drove by there and returned my system, they wouldnt take it back or even take the time to look at it even when i called them about it and even asked them...

they dont have nearly as large of a game selection as playstation, nor does x-box, but x-box hasnt been around for THAT long... and gamecube is the first of the nintendo consoles that uses cds, versus those stupid cartridges, which you constantly had to clean...

the controllers for gamecube are akward, as well as the x-box ones,

as far as the games, i watch my guy friends play game cube games and well, they dont do a whole lot, ive played a few of them myself and yeah, either they are really boring or i have ADD...

i have many reasons to be biased against nintendo

Sounds like that you haven't actually played that many games and probably got stuck with a few bad ones.

I do agree with you about PS2 being a very good system though. It has a good amount of games and the most RPGs out of all of the current console systems.

Out of all the systems out now, the GBA is my favorite, however. Awesome game selection, backwards compatibility, great 2D graphics, portibility, and more. It has RPGs, puzzle games, action games, platform games, racing games, and more.

And I also agree about the Xbox not having that many great games. I do like the GCN controller, though.

As far as customer service goes, I actually heard the opposite of what you said from many people, though I haven't really experienced it myself.

You are being nitpicky about the cartridges. I only had problems with older NES games not working and they always worked with a few tries on the old one or much more quickly on the newer top loading model. GB, GBC, GBA, SNES and N64 games almost always work for me as soon as I put them in the systems.

I will try to avoid the Cube discussion, since mine just sits and gathers dust anyhow.

As for the PS2 and Xbox.

PS2 by far has the larger library of games. If you can't find something you like here, I would be very surprised. Plus backwards compatibility with almost all PS1 games. Probably the easiest controller to deal with on the market. Cons include people getting disc read errors (more common on older systems) and no harddrive (yet).

Xbox has a growing library of games, though not exclusive to it by any means. Many can be played on Live which gives it awesome potential. Built in harddrive means no dealing with memory cards. Cons include original controller was kind of cumbersome for some people (I happen to like it). New controller is easier to use. Some people just don't like Microsoft and that becomes a con as well. It is essentially a computer and not a true console is an often heard argument, but I have a news flash for people ...... all consoles are computers.

Anyhow, if I had to pick only one, I would go with the PS2 at the moment. Only because it is all about the games and right now, Sony has them.

I agree with Brian. I am a Nintendo fan, and recently have strayed away from being biased against PS2 or Xbox. Out of the two of them id have to say that PS2 really kicks Xbox's butt. Graphics are better, the games are better (and more in quantity), and the controlers can actually fit in your hands. Im thinking about getting a PS2 with some of the money i get for Christmas.

One last thing...Xbox has no good party titles of its own its all reliant on 3rd party titles. And there only good title is Halo.

I think Nintendo should retire from the console business and focus on it's great game design. That would limit the field to two at least. I've read where markets cannot support 3 competitors over time (although I guess the auto industry would challenge that)

It is essentially a computer and not a true console is an often heard argument, but I have a news flash for people ...... all consoles are computers.
What they mean is that the x-box feels more like a pc someone threw together (with independent parts), rather than a system with all parts specifically designed to work together (in other words, a console).
