Now that December 1st is upon us, I'm getting really excited about Christmas. I know , but I love everything about it.

Decorations, christmas music (especially Slade) My kids nativity, reflection, and so on and so on.

I really don't enjoy this season any more. Every year, my parents and Mrs. TheManeki's parents put up a big stink over us spending time with them at Christmas, even though we go to see them every month or two for the weekend. Both sides want us with them every year, and don't want to share us with the other side. We can't get them to both meet at our house, since they're old and don't like to travel.

Honestly, I want to convert to Judaism just to celebrate Hannukah. It's a lot easier to fit everybody into a week instead of a single 24-hour period.

I used to get tha a lot when I was with my ex. Having to try to juggle in -laws, parents and our kiddies for visiting. My parents live 200 miles away so we could only visit them if we could afford it.

This is the first time in a few years I have actually felt really ready for christmas and don't have to worry about the conflict that always came with it while I was with my ex. Long story..booze + christmas = ex hubby not very nice. Oh well.

Bleh, I wish the Christmas season was over already. All it consists of is working every [Creative word] day; probably won't even get to go to the Christmas Eve service this year, which is the only holiday thing I really care about. I wish I could just collect all my holiday and premium pay now and have it be January so I can quit pretending to be cheerful

I bought 5 stocking stuffers today....that's the extent of my holiday shopping so far. sigh...I need to get crackalackin'.

This weekend is our big craft weekend. Every year, to try to make myself like Christmas, I plan a weekend of hanging out with the kiddos and decorating the house..making crafts and baking cookies. We are making origami peace crane ornaments, God's eye ornaments and straw garland. I'm making wine/alcohol bottle covers that look like Christmas trees. I have a holiday party for my democratic club and we give alcohol as door prizes(woohoo!). So I make these to dress them up.I'm also crocheting an Obama blanket(the logo that looks like a sun on the horizon) to be raffled...I need to finish that. My oldest loves to bake. Oh...and I'm going to make LARGE snowflakes to hang outside. I'm making them out of plarn...which is plastic shopping bags cut into strips and then knotted into a ball of "yarn".

Oh..and the dreaded shopping for a Christmas outfit...shudder. I hate shopping for clothes.

Well, I am at least going to be able to go to the Christmas Eve service tomorrow. However, getting this schedule adjustment also somehow turned into a speech from my supervisor about how I make a martyr out of myself and how everything I think I've ever accomplished is meaningless (especially anything somehow related to grad school). This all coming from a woman I've known for several years and who supposedly cares oh-so-much about me.

If anyone has any random illnesses they'd like to get rid of, pass them along my way! I'd like a day or two off this [creative word] job...

I have 2 gifts to buy.....and I need to get groceries....blah!

My niece and nephew have been here since Sunday so it's 5 kids on a Christmas high which means I need to do some cleaning as well,lol. So I'm about to drop them at my mom's for some grandma time while I run out for some items. We are supposed to bake all night.....prayers for sanity??? lol

Oh...and a funny thing we do when all 5 kids are together....calling their names is a mouthful....gracejordynjaredmarypeter.....so the 3 younger kids are PeJary(peter jared mary) and the older girls are Jorace(Jordyn Grace). That way when I say Pejary...all the little ones show up. They get such a kick out of it. When my nephew showed up Sunday the three little ones ran through the house parade style chanting Pejary in the house.....have mercy.

My parents frequently forget which child they're trying to call -- all our names start with the same sound -- and so they tend to just rattle them all off until they get the right name out.

It is Xmas Day, and I'm chilling in my apartment. I think I will watch Toy Story.

Also... Havarti is an amazing cheese. And there is nothing in the world like fried breadfruit. Yum!

I missed my thread, lol.

I also wanted a place to just let the locals here know that I've left Christianity and gone back to my Pagan roots. I'm quite happy with my decision.. because I did wake up one day and realize I was more Pagan than Christian, and it was time to move on.

I'll still be around here and there, but I'll probably step away from the forum more and more over time as I integrate with some different forums and just break that connection to Christianity. It's hard, it's been a long run.. 7 years now at least. Prior to that though, I was Pagan for 7 years, so at least I know where I'm going.

Probably will find me more in the Non-Christian Religion section, or the Life Stages sections.

Edit: Update later in the thread. I did some soul-searching and took about a month off CF and decided I'd keep going as a PC (Progressive Christian). I guess I just needed that time away from the insanity..

I can understand this.

Remember that Earth is your home. Someone might expel you from their hut. But they can never expel you from your home.

I'll stick around until I get banned. WWMC needs to stay to show Christians and non-Christians alike that there is an alternative to fundamentalism.
