Since we're stealing threads from other parts of the forum...

I thought it would be a nice idea to have a place where we could throw totally random thoughts. Ya know, those things you wanna say or share, but you really don't feel it's worth making a whole other thread about. Yeah you could put it in your blog, but really, who reads those things?

Ok, so there is the Random Thoughts thread for the Liberal area

So, my random thought that spurred my creation of the thread, is that yesterday I found out that my Priest at the liberal Anglican church I've been attending, has all three of the things I really need in a pastor.

1) He's post-modern Liberal
2) He's a non-"bible-literalist" (thank the Lord... lol)
3) He's... a trained therapist?! Yes! Yes he is

Not just any kind of therapist, a trauma and EMDR therapist! Who's dealt with over a thousand patients like me (I have agoraphobia and anxiety issues) with great success using EMDR treatment.

He wants to evaluate me to see if EMDR treatment will work for me. And there is no cost for parishioners (woo!).

I'm just totally excited. It's like this church was put here just for me, lol.

Funny you should mention, I just saw someone put a picture of herself wearing a snuggie onto her facebook.



In other news... I fear church today because last week someone brought their way-too-young child into the itty-bitty-TINY church, and it was -barely- being good. Anyone who knows me, knows I basically loathe children.. and screaming = my blood boiling = so much for church (Because I can't concentrate with a searing migraine). That would really suck...

Church turned out great today, NO fussy babies. I assume this means the parents know when to take their child to church, and when to stay home (due to fussiness or other issues). I'm really glad about that.

The homily was awesome today. At one point he was discussing something about Sunday School, because their sunday school program started today. And he went off on a rant about what is and is not important to teach children about God, and he said "I don't care if kids know how many giraffes were on Noahs ark...... IT'S JUST A MYTH!"

One of my religious random thoughts today was: why did God make it so complicated and hard for us to understand? 4,000 denominations and counting! And this is just in the Christian religion.

I'm so glad this forum (WWMC) exists and I'm not sure why I haven't posted in this area much before.

Also, part of me wants to quit school. Sure I'll be graduating in May and should have something to show for all of the student debt I've racked up, but I'm so ready to be done! People tell me I should go on the grad school because the economy sucks and my GPA doesn't, but I need a break from school.
