  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

repost from elsewhere, the "what are you thinking" thread

the goblin was thinking about those men who buy women for their need, wondering which emotions must be going through their minds, guilt, release, fantasy, hate, self hate and hypocrisy, "...anyway, it's simply mad to think that one can be so cheap and walk away feeling much good about it afterwards..." ventured the goblin imagining how those types must divorce themselves from their actions by dismissing it as some lapse of their character, something like "the usual me" against "some urge in me", "...but alas that excuse mechanism is to be found in many parts of society where one goes against oneself..." mentioned the goblin, wondering if it explained split personalities then, or those personalities that seem to flip over from one extreme to the other like a facial expression on a clown here, jakal/hyde in action perhaps

the goblin liked the reply, smiling "...ah, the talent is clear in this one...", in fact, something in xxxxx's writing style spoke "young writer" to the goblin so he explained something from experience now, saying "...the muse's pack goes honesty, a shared life, and a thick skin, where there's no halfway house about it, simply that the muse does not go back into her bottle after those works are written, so writers end up living shared lives, just imagine any fiction writer you like and then consider what kind of mind he or she must have to write both as fluidly and as vividly as they do, and how their imagination must work overtime where obviously they all live their books in their minds before, while, and afterwards too, so it's a shared life then, well now, do you still want to be a writer with a shared life here, I mean you must be mad if you do, yet mad if you don't, good luck then ..."

Books aren't selling as well as they used to, that's for sure. It's a pity though. I feel for all those people who had their little secondhand bookstores, and have gone out of business. I used to love going into those stores to see what rare treasure I could find. I think once the older generation dies out, and all we are left with are the computer literate people, books will become a thing of the past.

"...no, nothing really ever dies out completely as there's always some residual market share remaining, be that for books, newspapers, television, or radio..." mentioned the goblin, adding "...but I am totally in agreement that this internet is taking over as the mainstream here, if it hasn't done so already that is, so the question now is how will each of those medias adapt to this internet, since internet users will still want something to read and to view and to listen to too, only that they will also interaction, and it's this interaction then that excites me, being something quite new in my view...", simply, the goblin never forgot his old writer's club days, where there too, writers swapped exacts of things they had written apart from their published works, concluding "...the difference then was that the author was sitting in front of one, so perhaps that was my first experience of livewriting back then, where forumland becomes my writer's club of old now, and where this interaction will turn it mainstream, why, because you can reply to me now, yes you can have your say here..."

repost from elsewhere, ex-girlfriends problems

acknowledging the visiting admin the goblin didn't really understand why this subject mattered these years later, replying “...perhaps ,shoot first, ask questions later constitutes a sub-plot to me today, so no, I don't owe you an explanation as to why back then I left over your pulling posts, and deleting threads too, and certainly I didn't implode things on leaving as you say, in fact I said nothing and accepted your edit/delete prerogative as my admin/editor there, even if I saw it coming, yet my allegiance today must remain to those admins whom I can trust the integrity of my posts to, especially where I've been befriended and given a free hand here, and besides, why would anyone trust you twice, so the forum becomes a bitter fruit of your own malice towards anyone that you didn't approve of at the time, in short, you made it hell, so they left you in your hell then..."

the goblin was wondering if hedes hadn't somehow released the cerberus from its underworld, and if this really was a cerberus that the goblin was facing now, and which one of those three ferocious heads would actually devour him too, oh yes, he recognized them alright, there was the european malaise with its insatiable debt hunger now, the american default, again with its insurmountable debt too, and lastly, the one the goblin feared the most here, the onward awakening of the tectonic plates, "...now the jaws of either one of these heads alone would have been alarming enough, but to have all three together now, well I am beyond alarm it seems..." mentioned the goblin, but the cerberus was in no rush it seemed, instead, it was just biding its time as if savoring its prey once more, where the goblin for his part just read into its contours its majesty again, saying "...at least I saw you coming beast, you'll give me credit for that then, I wasn't fooled by ourdearmedia's given distractions..."

repost from elsewhere, the "what at you thinking" thread

"...captain, I have holed our ship, and together we will drown now..." uttered the goblin without remorse to himself alone on seeing what life had in store for him and refusing it, adding "...so I'll climb this mast one last time for that finial pleasure, simply to watch you drown first between us now...", no, it was only a scene in the goblin's mind perhaps, mere words that returned to him often enough, for somehow the goblin knew that he was betraying his dailylife for his own values this time

repost from elsewhere, new, hope it makes sense

@flea: Above post really hits home. We like online attention, but sometimes you have to admit they only know your online personality. Even if you are liked via www, it's just your "persona" they approve of. You need not feel ignored. You have the sweetest and most agreeable online character. You seem to have a lot of undiscovered greatest that you aren't quite showing off.
"...thanks xxxxx.." replied the goblin thinking upon it now, adding "...I think that, unlike back then, most of today's writers are more aware of forum readership so there's that then, plus those that know me by this livewriting understand that the way I write is to enhance my anonymity giving full sway to alter ego instead, in fact, I have always doubted that the purpose of my pen is merely to flog ebooks to others for profit, and that just perhaps, there might be a journey to self here...", just that the times called for anonymity and prudence in one's writing, and besides, if one was anonymous then the end result, that which one sees on the screen, was on its own, whereas the internal result was something that one amassed within oneself, confiding "...this year the angel of death, albeit in a most merciful manner, has visited me twice now, reminding me at least of what my priorities should be, for no, I won't render unto mudesa today, life is far too short for anything other than my journey to self here, where life is a journey to death sounds morbid, even if it's the truth of the matter, for we are all dying while still winning the unwinable, no, medusa can have another suitor if she likes..."

repost from this forum,

I have been rejected by 25+ publishers. Beat that.

"...well, as a livewriter on forumland I've been banned from about that many writer's forums already, whereas if we're talking about normal forums with normal people upon them, let's just change the subject quickly and not even think about their number.." ventured the goblin noting that the misadventure of it all did somehow form the bedrock of one's later experience, saying "...alas, to find the right forum like this one has to plough through the wrong ones, that all...", and with that goblin added an explanatory youtube stream to help humans understand goblins better, adding "...yes, maybe it was my aftershave after all, so here you go then, these are similarities then, enjoy..."

("...btw just in case you didn't know already, Forge3 is still in the clink for drunk and disorderly behaviour, while brinny to the best of my knowledge has run off with the postman again, yes, just one of those everyday occurrences on CF it seems, and nothing too untoward by the looks of things..." mentioned the goblin in his consideration towards both readers and normal people alike)

repost from "what are you thinking" thread elsewhere

the goblin was thinking, and simply repeated "...often, it isn't when things go right that one learns, it's when they go wrong that one does...", words which seemed to take the goblin back to a phrase that he had written before ah no, life's angels are not there to be nice they're there to help one see one's spirit clearly, and yes, the goblin had fought them often and was far more awake today than had it been otherwise

a bit o' rye humor there me friend, eh? *brinny chuckles*

on another note....

it comes so quietly,
stealthily ya see
cuz if ya saw it
in all its 'glory'
you'd surely flee

cunning and lulling
comforting e-ven
it heavy's the eyes
of the souls of men

Hoping to hide
the truth and light
it lulls souls to
Never-more-land
without even a fight

As the count rises
its ruthless captor surmises
the souls seen as prizes
amidst shouts of vic'try

With a whoop
and a holler
and a sneer
he takes his leisure
knowing
there's more tomorrow

it ain't no biggie, says he
and oh so easy
cuz they
come to me

Ain't it plain to see?
men
don't wanna
be free

*surreal captor....mighty in his grip, merciless in his grasp, his genius is that he conquers without having to put up a fight...*

("...thanks for posting..." went the goblin, adding "...keep me company then, where the more you post the better you'll get at posting...", where today marked the end of lupus forum then, but that was forumland for you, simply nothing here was ever actually here bar a flux of something transient, at which point the goblin's mind fell back upon the line written on sand, spoken to the air, and mixed upon the waters but that was much like his life anyway)

repost from elsewhere, the lupusbots "last post" thread, admin put up her photo

the goblin liked queenbot's photo very much, saying "...one would think it odd that anything could actually happen to a persona on the internet but if I start by saying that form those few "last post" threads before, came many many more, and yet, as much as I try, I cannot quite conquer the whole of forumland here it seems, though both the livewriting scene, and my notoriety too, have advanced enough to have me wading through a jungle of notifications in my inbox, but that never stops me from coming here, if only to steal a kiss from queetbot now, saying "...and who knows, you might transform me yet..."

"...how smart you are to have guessed the I am feeding off your replies too..." mentioned the goblin who simply explained it by saying "...posters post, writers write, readers read, but livewriters, well they're actually cheats, they feed feed feed...", somehow the goblin remembered the story where hell is supposed to have spoons that were too long to feed oneself with so everyone there hungered, whereas in heaven those very same spoons were used to feed others with, saying "...well you feed me, I feed this little slot here, and around it goes, yes all this spoon feeding between us now..."

the true Saints do not seek reward for themselves, although their names will throughout remain written on the walls of the Holy City, the only reward to Them is to be provided complete salvation to all humans unto eternal life

Blessings

Well, his older brother beat the crap out of him and told me that it was wrong of his brother to hit me open handed or not. Then him and my guy friends told me over and over that a man should not hit a woman for any reason. And that disagreeing with what he said was in no way deserving to hit or even slapped.

So, if I didn't have those men in my life...I would think it was okay. How do people know what is happening is wrong?

If the husband says, "you are a no good bag of horse crap"...what makes it not true? Maybe I am. Maybe I am not keeping up the house like I should. How do we know if we are being abused or not. It took me a LONG time to realize men really shouldn't shove women into walls and such just because they are upset. I always thought men were making me a better woman. I know it was VERY backwards and please don't think less of me for it. I lived in a backwards town and it was the norm.

Again, I don't believe this anymore. Women should never be punched, slapped, shoved, or kicked. But just the same...women shouldn't do it to men. HOWEVER, ladies....if you are being beat...you fight like you never fought before and run fast! Kick him in the *ahem*, gouge his eyes, break his nose...do anything to survive. Your goal is to live...don't worry about being a "good girl" or hurting the man...just focus on making it another day.

I'm sorry for buting in again, but I think women (along with me) need to know. What are signs of abuse, what is abuse, and how can we avoid it?

AND, men, I DO NOT hate men!!!! Men are wonderful people...Men are who pointed out what abuse was. But all I really know is that hitting and belittling are wrong. There is no law against name calling or other types of "verbal abuse". So, I really don't know much and am curious and think it may help other women.

Me? Safe bet...stay single. LOL

i must agree, and interject also, sister in Christ.

God is the Lifter of our heads and he teaches us, His sons and daughter to hold our heads up and to fight the good fight, to fight against injustice, unrighteousness, tyranny, and oppression of any sort.

And we are to speak out for those who are in harms way and to do so boldly and with sureness, not with wavering timidity or un-sureness.

It is SIN to abuse another, psychologically, verbally, physically, and sexually. the one doing so to another is being used of the enemy in the most sneakiest of ways, because it renders confusion to the one being abused. God, however, is not the author of confusion. He grants us clarity to see clearly and to be decisive. He grants us a fearlessness. He enables us to see the evil for what it is, and like He, our Father, we abhor the evil and fight it, certainly not tolerate it, not even for a nano-second.

He rolls up His sleeve, and bares His holy arm. He teaches us to do the same, fearlessly.

He pierces that loathesome darkness. He teaches us to do the same...shine His Light into the darkest of places.

There's a time and purpose for everything under heaven...

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace."

sometimes our vision ain't so good, is it, finite vision that it is and ever will be...and because it IS so finite, we in our short-sightedness, thinks we sees just fine...but when ya thinks about it, how can that be, cuz anything finite, after all, is quite limited isn't it?
