  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

write something nonsensical, surreal, silly.

repost from elsewhere, the goblin trying to win the "last post" thread again

and with that the goblin in his kindness then offered a simple test, a visual aid in fact, to help the members annualize their stress levels at this point, saying "...well, it's all rather simple, all you have to do is look at this picture below of a couple of dolphins, close your eyes for ten seconds, open them and if you still don't see both dolphins, or if you see something else instead, it is strongly advised to desist from posting here until you see both dolphins letting the goblin post on in your place, thank you..." where of course the goblin had only the other posters welfare at heart here

a ridiculous assumption it is, for as we all know, dolphins only swim with other dolphins.....and if, and only if the observer sees a dolphin in the picture below should they venture to post....

shhhhhhhh....close yer eyes, and if you close them long enough, it'll come to ya'...if it doesn't, close yer eyes and repeat until it does...but whatever you do, don't post till ya see the dolphin...

repost from elsewhere, just sharing

Being that this is the [looks for a second] 23 pages of posting how did this even start. It's nice to see how this has evolved so much. And i should say that you guys seem like academic rivals. Like sherlock homes with less of a drug addiction [or much greater]
"...just there's a natural evolution here, in that, the core to livewriting is polishing one's posts, unlike the average poster who posts something once and moves on, a concept of air/edit/backup that turns this practice into something that separates the two types of posters..." replied the goblin knowing that both narration and adding pictures were indulgences and not directly livewriting per say, the goblin continued "...I narrate my posts because I understand from experience that it offers me a greater scope of diction as most fiction is written with narration then, and where in comparison a normal poster's posts seems lacking, whereas adding a picture slowly gives one the ability to illustrate, so this is livewriting then...", not quite, for the goblin also knew that he had to perfect this practice before he got old, concluding "...the result is actually secondary to the practice, you see, when I read your posts I feel I'm with you, and yet when I write in my turn, I feel alone with my thoughts upon forumland, like an incredible journey to self of a self often stares back at me from what I have written..."

Is it mandatory that your friends agree with you? Sometimes by being exposed to a different viewpoint, one can see another side to an issue.
the goblin only wanted people to agree with him when he was wrong, such was his weakness, otherwise he was wanting them to try and prove him wrong feeling his argument was sound enough, saying "...btw, I bought a sony ebook reader yesterday on the cheap, tactile, with mp3 player too, and 20hours battery life...", not that that the goblin had any time to read books, but for jotting down ideas in an instant it was just perfect, so as a notebook then, saying "...um, could you please agree with me that I did the right thing then..."

repost from elsewhere, goblin still loving his ebook reader

hmmm...was it cheaper than a set of recycled pencil and paperpad ? but wait... what do you look like when using it in public ... it's uber-cool factor ?
the goblin thanked the poster for her comment suggesting pen and paper in place of using a textile ebook reader for notes here, but he felt he had to decline explaining why it was just so important for one to keep up appearances here carrying one's textile ebook reader on one at all times, explaining “...you see, apart from the mere fact that one might suddenly want to take notes, or listen to ripped mp3s, there is the dictionary, and those 350 odd books too...” continuing “...where too, imagine if one fell down a hole in the road, one could read at leisure until rescued then, and what if some sudden craving for literature and intellectual aspirations arose within one, you'd have shakespeare plays, lord byron's poems, next to the goblin's very own posts too, gone would be that urge to shoot people in walmats, for now one could take the moral highground here, just like giving money to WWF for animals that you never see, one could now save writers from extinction by uploading books that no one has time to read, enough to bring a smile to anyone's face I imagine..."

repost from elsewhere, a follow on post, reply to admin's stepping in

"...agreement total xxxxx..." went the goblin, adding "...and certainly I don't want others to follow my style either, heaven forbid, just clones of goblin would result from that, no, each person should find out what is best for him of her here, so no, I'm not attacking anyone, I'm only defending myself now...", something which by now the goblin was somewhat practised at

repost from elsewhere, touching on someone's birthday

"...so here's to birthdays-past then..." quietly proposed the goblin trying to think to himself which one had been his best, adding "...you know, looking back now, perhaps the best gift I ever received, for my birthday that is, was not what I was actually given at all but more an unfading memory of someone who gave me something at the time, where those late people who are now in some long gone ago setting today are ever mine still, and perhaps yours too, whenever you think back upon them now, so many happy returns turns into a spell of association behind the gift itself that became the real gift of it all..."

Your pictures are so cute.
"...thanks..." replied the goblin now, explaining "...you see, if I try to match what I write with a picture each time, then whenever I see some picture that I am looking at its likeness to anything I have either written or intend to write about springs to mind...", conversely it was the exactly the same for his texts too, for whenever the goblin wrote something now, his mind soon flicked up images, concluding "...for me this posting is all a practice then, but not to be a writer now, nor even to be known then, no, only a practice to become more articulate and aware in my old age if and when it comes, for what else can I take with me bar that which one gains over time within..."

*brinny ponders on the unfortunate kitten and controls her urge to reach through the screen and snatch the kitten from such a state of helplessness, where at any moment it may not turn quite fast enough, and finds herself empathizing with the kitten as forgotten dreamlike shadows of long ago entrapped helplessness slowly surface*

repost from elsewhere, new and still is a mess

"...in the end..." started the goblin thinking upon it now, and then continuing "...perhaps god is a bit like a headache then, where those who get headaches are in no doubt about it and can't see why others don't get them nor understand those who do, whereas those who don't get headaches never really believe that others can get them, likewise then, there are those who know god not as some blind belief nor as some base logic, but simply as something they've experienced, so god is a bit like one big headache then...", at which point god, looking down, was probably wondering why the goblin couldn't come up with some better analogy here, where the goblin too was wondering what the fuss was all about as it was all most subjective anyway, saying "...look, whether it's the torah the koran or the bibble, it's still exactly the same god in each one, and yet you humans still find it all a jolly good pretext to kill one another over your differences, so it's become a headache then where somewhere along the line we all got sidetracked into form of worship rather than its actual function..."

repost from elsewhere

hey! whats new everyone

"...not sure myself..." replied the goblin recovering from his cold, but now a bit worried in fact that the american administration, was just following the spanish empire in 17th century down her road to ruin here, adding "...well, the parallel is clear enough, I mean same fervor at the top, same problem of logistics, same high cost too, where slowly demoralization creeps in, troops go unpaid or ill equipped, mutinies within the ranks, and final pullout, at the cost of her empire, for if spain had cut her loses at the start, she wouldn't have paved the way for the french empire first, followed by the british empire after that...", simply spain had the new world with an almost unlimited supply of silver at the time, concluding "...so if spain with unlimited finance couldn't defeat the various states in the netherlands, how could it be possible be then, that america, with its multi trillion dollar debt at this point, can somehow subdue the afghanistan tribes indefinitely here...", simply, that same old writing was on the wall again, and it still read "pull out or bleed on"

repost from elsewhere, a writers forum's "last post" thread

wins what?

"...well one wins whatever one puts into one's posts I suppose..." replied the goblin now knowing how writers took great care over what they posted for two reasons, first for the chance it gave them to get their ideas right to themselves, and second, for the chance it offered to pull readers towards their writings, while feeding off replies too, adding "...where now that other ludicrous idea of somehow becoming the last poster on this thread is a serious no no, so best not think about it even, for writers once they know it's throughly pointless, futile, crazy, etc., actually feel all the more the urge to get it out of themselves..."

hahahaaaaa gotta give it to ya flea, the cute factor is like 110%

and the rest of yer post is quite thought provoking in that it fits right into the whimsical-ness and craziness and zany-ness of those kinds of threads (and this one too) which thrive so splendidly on spontaneity cuz they grows ideas like flourishing gardens and imagination runs free....and that, is perhaps what it's all about, the sheer wonder of what sprouts forth in all of its many forms and where each has something of the utmost importance to share and no one bats an eye cuz it's not in least unusual

repost from elsewhere, new, and just the time of year then

“...has it now come this then...” asked the goblin to himself about momentarily seeing someone sitting on the sofa in the empty sitting room relaxed with one ankle on his knee and with both hands behind his head in a very un-wake like posture in the middle of his father's wake now, and how too those dead just seem ever their younger selves whenever one glimpses one of them from the corner of one's eye, whereupon the goblin just explained it again, saying “...ah yes, just another one of the those ghosts, or “I thought I saw someone” moments then, where no one is actually there, and where those moments are becoming increasingly frequent now, oh and evidently more vivid too ,with the practice of this posting/writing...”, just the goblin knew that his life was very much a shared one today, adding “...and to think that there are those out there who would wish to become writers now, yet instead one just ends up with a shared life with one's ghosts whose validity, whether just imagined or otherwise, changes absolutely nothing, for they still jump out at one in unguarded moments...”

"...difficult balance..." went the goblin, explaining "...which forums to be on I mean, where I'm guilty of forgetting those forums that forget me back as well as to those that feed me too much negativity, but isn't that how it should be, for what does one owe somewhere that shows no interest nor rapport...", ah but the goblin too, was often guilty on just overlooking a forum, either he lost its link or felt that the members didn't want to come together there, saying "...simply, I'm a scavenger who sees notifications as food then, simply I feed off posts, meaning that the hitcount however flattering its number might be will not actually feed me, so the criteria of a writer and a livewriter differ in this respect, in that they write to be read whereas I write to be fed, so feed me please to keep me..."

hahahaaaaa that guy looks like bill gates..

speaking of electronics (and yes, i've often wondered if bill gates is a robotized automaton, y'know, cuz he has no heart or soul regardless of the giving. No worries, he's expecting a return on his investment of which is found in the small print, that miniscule writing that cannot be seen or understood but will surely be binding and will be collected in due time) now back to the other variety of electronics, there's rumors of new computers coming out with malware already installed in them, deliberately. Deliberately you say? Yes, deliberately. Well why would anyone in their right mind install malware deliberately, you say? Perhaps the question is, why would anyone in their right mind buy it?
