It was a long time ago. I thought I could see the future in dreams. I said stuff like I knew my hometown wouldn't set on fire during a really long fire because of a dream I had. I only posted it after the fact. Most of them were about dreams that I thought came true later. I also thought I saw the tsunami in Japan, although I thought it would happen in just off the coast of calfornia, and that the atomic radiation would be a bomb instead of a nuclear reactor. I didn't post that many, but enough to be a false prophet, which I'm sorry for, but maybe not sorry enough. I just wanted to believe that I could see the future so badly.

Motives are huge when it comes to operating in any gifting. Just look at Baalam. He heard from God, but yet he used that gift for personal gain. In the end, it destroyed him.

What comes to mind for you is this:

Thus says the Lord: “Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the Lord.”

I resist being labled, although many have tried. It's what believers do, and it's not a bad thing at all ... it's the way things work. For ME however, I have a to guard myself against pride (and believe me God has his ways of keeping me humble), so for now it's not a good idea to take on a label. That may change, but honestly I don't care; I just to be close to Jesus so that people get him and NOT me whenever I do something for God.

A motive for simply knowing Jesus as best you possibly can will do wonders for you and those around you. As I think back through my years as a believer, it is not those who were most gifted that have blessed me the most, it is those WHO KNOW THE HEART OF THE FATHER that have blessed me the most. There's just something about them; it is like finding buried treasure and you covet their company.

God loves you so very much, just repent of anything you know to be vain and selfish ambition (e.g. seeking after gifts or using gifts to impress people and/or win favor with people) and ask God to help you serve him and those around you with pure motives; he will absolutely answer that prayer.

You will find more than anything else that God will show you what he is doing, and all you do is join him in that work.

If it's done well, you will be as blessed if not moreso than those you minister to.

Our Father in heaven is NOT a condeming God, and you are not an unbeliever, you are a child of God and He has forgiven you already. As a matter of fact, He may be training you right now for this calling that you desire. It is a rough row to hoe, but He will do it through you for His glory. Prophets have to learn humility right out of the gate. Pride is the scourge of mankind, and something that the Lord God HATES. You are learning and He sees your heart. Take courage and comfort from Him. He loves you and is training you for His good purposes.

The Lord tells us to be eager for the gifts, especially the one you desire..prophesy. You are not wrong in desiring it. Look at these scriptures.

1 Corinthians 14
1"Follow the way of love and eagerly desire gifts of the Spirit, especially prophecy.

31"Therefore, my brothers and sisters, be eager to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues."

So you see, you are not "off" the mark here..you are being trained. in whatever He has planned for you. When you think you know or have been reaffirmed one should always get confirmation from your peers at church.

Take heart, you are indeed in His hands.

It sounds like you already have. A few things will help keep you in check:

1. Knowing who God is.
2. Knowing who you are.
3. Knowing that this life is about others.

If you ask God to help you keep mindful of who you are before Him, then believe me pride won't be able to find a place in you when he uses you.

You will realize that you can no more take credit for the things God does through you than a cup can take credit for the refreshing drink that it provides.

As you grow close to God, you will begin to see that he is very passionate for the people around you, and you will start looking for ways to minister to them and to help them. You will realize that whatever gifts he gives you are not for you to wield or show off, but expressly for the purposes of reaching and ministering to those whom he has sent you to so that in using them, he can draw those people to himself.

Any time I have ever seen the Holy Spirit at work, he ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS points to and exalts Jesus -- NEVER EVER a man or the ministry of a man.

Also a prophet is one who is so selfless, yielded, and plugged into God voice and heart that He uses you for His purposes, at any cost to yourself image (read Jonah again). With that in mind and knowing this part is essential, can you see how this "self image" type of lesson fits perfectly for training purposes?

It is Your heavenly Papa who put the desire in your heart to prophesy. You may believe that the reason you desired to see the future was because it was just your own self desire, but what it really was is God’s unction within you… He placed this desire within your heart so you will fulfil your calling. You may have used it wrong, but God will burn the 'self' part off so you will be pure in Him.
The Word says,
“Pursue love, yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy” - 1 Cor 14:1
“Therefore, brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak with tongues” – 1 Cor 14:39

Some Christians who are very misled say that by desiring spiritual giftings people are seeking power or seeking the gift and not the giver (and with some people that may be true), but it is He who places our dreams inside our hearts. We must use our giftings for God and not for the enemy, but the desire itself is Godly.
As Papa reigns His child in and shapes him/her, they give more of their life over to Him, thus allowing Him to flow more freely through them.. as this happens, God is able to birth those giftings in us. He will do this with you as you draw nearer to Him and allow Him to heal the wounds in your heart.. He wants to take you out of the ‘hell experience’ you feel you’re in right now. Choose the refining fire, He will bring you through & it will not destroy you. Once refined, He will use you in the capacity He has planned.

MastersPiece, please don't take my synopsis of what it appeared to me the dream was saying as confirmation from the Lord that Orangeness has been called to the office of prophetic seer by God. I said:

... the Lord, apparently, was showing you in your dream, was that you were a seer who was giving false messages, apparently of peace, and you were only set free from your torment when you gave messages of the coming wrath of God.

This is what Orangeness actually said:

Then a voice said, "You told them you were a seer. You got their hopes up. Well since you told them that, tell them this. My wrath is coming against the entire world." After I agreed to say that, I was able to get out through another door.

I believe the admissions of Orangeness on here have solidified that the idea of being a seer (prophet) was of her own doing, and was not of God. And, this goes along with the passage in Ezekiel 13, as well, because the false prophets spoke from their own imaginations. They followed their own spirit and had seen nothing. I believe Orangeness admitted to this. Her purpose was to impress people, of her own admission, not to warn people of coming judgment and to call them to repentance. She did not prepare people for spiritual warfare. God is against the lying prophets, and he used that term "prophet," not in the sense of them being called of God to be seers/prophets, either. The judgment against the lying prophets was torrents of rain, which I find interesting in light of the fact that Orangeness said she was asked to choose between fire or drowning, and she chose drowning. This also fits with Mark 9:42-49.

Now to the issue of God's love, grace and forgiveness, I believe that God will forgive all sin with the exception of the sin of unbelief in Jesus Christ. I believe God offers his forgiveness and restoration to the penitent. Not one of us is without sin in our lives, so none of us has the right to cast a stone at her. We have all failed God in one way or another. So, the question really comes down to repentance, and what that means for Orangeness. If this is the voice of God to her, which it appears it is, then to truly repent, she must not only stop (cease) false prophecy, and perhaps she has already done that, but she must turn to the Lord Jesus in faith and surrender to his will for her life and she must do as he has commanded her.

Ephesians 4 is a great passage of scripture for this. If you have been lying, start telling the truth, and if you have been stealing, get a job and give to the needy, etc. It appears to me, and Orangeness must pray and ask God herself if this is God speaking to her, that he is saying to her, turn from being a false prophet and instead give my messages to the people. She doesn't have to be called a prophet in order to give God's messages. All followers of Jesus Christ are his servants and witnesses and lights to the world.

Now, I will address the rest of this to Orangeness. God loves you. He has a plan for your life. Yes, you did wrong. Turn from your wrong doing now and follow Jesus Christ in obedience in doing what he is now asking you to do. It appears to me he is asking you to warn the people of this world of his coming wrath. What goes along with that are calls to repentance and faith or renewed faith in Jesus Christ, dying to what once bound us, and instead following the Lord in obedience. This is the way to freedom from your prison. I know! Feeling badly for what you did is not enough. You must choose today to follow Jesus in doing what he asks you to do.

This does not mean you will do everything perfectly from this point on. Like someone said, it all comes down to motivation, but also if we are acting on our own and are doing this for selfish desire and recognition or if we truly are humble in wanting to serve our Lord with our whole hearts out of a heart of love for God/Jesus for all he has done for us. So, I just ask that you pray over the things I have shared here with you and that you will let God speak to your heart, and then just go forward in his grace and strength and for what time you have left on this earth determine to serve your Lord with your whole heart, not for selfish gain, and not because you must, but because you love Jesus and you love other people and you don't want to see anyone lose his or her life for eternity.

your right, I'm not ready for spiritual warfare. I don't even have a job. I'm not a prophet. It's interesting that you talk about stones, because I had dreams about children wanting to stone me last night, but only because I threw a stone that broke at their feet. I think it means that I am more judgmental than I want to admit and act as though I'm pure enough to cast stones, but I'm not, and the point was I think I'm purer than small children, who haven't even had the chance to commit as many sins as I have. I know I am sinful, but I have a problem with being judgmental, which is a double whammy with being a false prophet. I don't really want to shed the title of false prophet, because I know for this life that is what I am. I want God to forgive my sins, and I also need to stop being judgmental. I think the point was that not only do I think I'm purer than Jesus, but that I'm judgmental and picking fights with God's children by provoking them, by pretending to be pure and acting as though everybody else, including children, aren't. I need to change. My life has really shown me at this point I value worth based on titles and accomplishments. I really need to put to death my sins instead of judging God's children. It's hard. I think the dream is pointing out that I'm so unforgiving that I would even stone a child. In the dream I was the one that deserved to get stoned, but the children weren't willing to throw stones at me, they only picked them up, and I fled like a coward instead of receiving punishment.

Who thought he was superior to God and wanted to be God? Who is a roaring lion going around seeking whom he may devour? Who is against the children of God? If you think you are purer than Jesus Christ, that is not from God or from anyone who knows God/Jesus. That is of Satan.

If you want to be forgiven of your sins then you need to turn your heart and life over to Jesus Christ, humbling yourself before him, acknowledging that you are a sinner and that you need him to save you. You need to turn, not only from the sin of judgmentalism, but from all sin, and you need to allow the Spirit of God to transform your heart and mind and to make you into a new person in Christ Jesus, "created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness" (see Eph. 4:17-24).

And, you need to follow the Lord Jesus Christ in obedience to his commands and surrender to his will and purposes for your life. Then you will be free of your torment. You first of all need to know Christ before you can walk in the Spirit of God and enjoy the fellowship of other followers of Jesus Christ. So, today make that decision to repent of all sin, to turn from following after your own flesh, and to humble yourself in surrender to Christ and obedience to his commands, and then walk in his truth, and the truth will set you free!

She doesn't want to shed the title of false prophet because that is what she is.

She thinks she is purer than Jesus Christ.

She picks fights with God's children by provoking them.

This is of Satan. This is not of God. A true child of God and bride of Christ would not believe he or she is purer than Jesus, and he or she would not choose to hold on to the title of false prophet because she believes that is what she is. The church is the body of Christ and we can only mentor (disciple) those who truly know Christ. By her own admission she believes she is superior to Jesus Christ. And, she does not want to shed the title of false prophet. We need to encourage Orangeness to turn away from Satan and the power he obviously has over her life and to turn and humble herself before God in submission and surrender to him, because truly that is what she needs before she can move beyond that. Yes, God can forgive her, but she must repent and she must reject these lies of Satan that she is somehow superior (more holy, righteous and pure) than God.
