Semper was supposed to be a safe place where we could fellowship without interference from other Christian denoms. At least that is my understanding of the reasoning behind setting up the denominational forums.

We obviously need to go the next step with a password protected, reformed only subforum.

Freedom of speech is certainly under threat ........ seeing as burning P's at the stake is no longer an option , other methods are employed.

now onto CF ;

I think it is no easy thing being a mod here , after all CF is based upon ecumencity , which most Reformed Christians will have some problem with (perhaps other Christians too ?) ...... I do , but hey ... this is better than just signing up to a forum where everyone agrees all the time ...... like some "holy huddle" , I still think CF rules!

It was such a wonderful thing to come here and find amongst all the usual denom's Calvinist's , with there own room and 'Tulip badge'

I voted yes, not because I want to "bash catholics" or anything like that, but because I was very disapointed when we were having the discussion with Reformedfan about her mom and the catholics jumped in and got involved. I think it was very innappropriate that they came into the discussion. If one of us had gone into OBOB and did that, all *ell would have broken loose over it.

We are not Catholic haters---but there is a very large gap between our theologies that we cannot ignore.(white elephant anyone?). We, as reformed folk, should be able to discuss these differences among ourselves without worrying about being censored over it.

CF is truly an awesome place, but if we cannot speak openly about issues we may have with other denominations (in love and charity), then this place is no better than the most liberal lukewarm church only concerned with numbers and not offending anyone. And not a place I want to be.

I'm not saying we can go around bashing others we don't agree with---and we should be careful about how we go about discussing these issues---but we MUST be allowed to voice them.

I voted "no" for the very reason Imblessed gave. Would it be "nice" to be able to have a thread/forum like that? Yes, it would, but we can't stop others who disagree with us from posting in it.

Unless there is a way to allow only Calvinists to post in a thread/forum (by icon, maybe?), I don't see the possibility that it would happen.

oh, man! i have felt so horrible, it is my fault the new policy went into effect, i wanted to post as much in the announcement section dealing with this, but i figured it was better to just slink around under a cloud

y'know, the whole 'report' system encourages unBiblical responses. What does the Bible say yer supposed ta do if someone is offensive, run & tattle? Yet that is how the sys is set up.

I dunno, i get whacked A LOT!! so now i only post here, so i'm not entirely unbiased & neutral on this issue, i figure. The mods of this forum rawk, no sense wearing them out with my sinful & impulsivce tirades venting about my disrespect fer my mama & her...uh...religion. Weird they mod this forum & have no say in Prot/Cath disagreements. Weird, did i mention that i thought that was weird? Are Armins & the Jesus loved everybodees on that committee?

The less mods, tha' betta', though the mods of this forum rawk hard.

Indeed we do not fight against flesh and blood but against powers and principalities in HIGH places.

Let us face the fact that Calvinists were once burned at the stake and cursed for their faith.

Why should we expect anymore here?

If we were loved by them we would not be giving the gospel we would be compromising our faith.

I take their fear of our words and our forum as a blessing from God
