Could you be more specific so that four years from now you can't worm out of what you said? Don't worry, if you're right I'll give you a bundle of rep points for your awesome predictive powers.

How about you just leave it alone, OK? I'm expressing an opinion. Nothing more.

I'm sorry, I had though you were predicting the end of America as we know it, rather than just expressing an opinion. My soundest apologies for having misread what you said.

But frankly, I think we are too far gone to make much of a difference no matter WHO wins the election.

I can understand your frustration, however, believe it or not things can get much worse if we continue with the current administration, my 2 cents or less.

It just occured to me that the upcoming election must be like a gnat on a bulls horn to almighty God, His all consuming wrath towards the immorality and decadence of the world will be carried out in due time, the only exceptions being those in Christ our Saviour.

Hey Faithman, what is your take on the Cain situation? It appears to me that it is not good.
Well, I'm not going to rush to judgment like some who are ready to lynch him. We live in a society where women do many things in the work place to draw attention to themselves. For example, clothing, makeup, attitude, etc. But if the wrong man, or for some any man, makes a flattering comment, the feminist code is invoked to put him in his place. Mr. Cain has an outgoing personality. That makes him attractive as a presidential candidate. This flattery could be nothing more than saying something natural for his character, with no ulterior motive.

I am not a handsome man, never have been. I still have women call me honey or sweety and I don't particularly care for it. But I'm not going to claim sexual harassment. About 20 years ago, I was working as an engineer at a manufacturing plant. I worked closely with maintenance and operators on some hi tech equipment. On one occasion, I guess I had done an extra good job and the female operator gave me a kiss on the cheek. That was a surprise but I kept my cool.

My wife got a big kick out of the following situation. We were taking my car in to get some engine work done and as we were talking with the owner's wife holding her newborn behind the counter, she whipped out a breast and started nursing. She was talking to me and I never lost eye contact. My wife thought that was funny because of how shy I am and introverted. Anyway, Mr. Cain gets the benefit of doubt from me until proven otherwise.

I am tired of sacrificing my conscience at the altar of "the lesser evil". If Cain or Paul don't get the nomination (they being the only two I believe I can trust at all), I either won't vote or will write Paul in, he being my preference for a number of reasons.

I hear you. I've learned the hard way that if you vote for the lesser of two evils, you still get evil.

I'm having a hard time understanding those who would not vote for a Mormon if it comes to that, we are not talking about voting for a person to lead us in our faith but to turn the economy and country towards a more prosperous future, to get those that are struggling and desperate back to work for the sake of their families.

Yes. I don't really see the benefit of voting for a 3rd party candidate if that candidate has virtually no chance to win. The Mormons in sports and on the political scene seem to be generally good people, on the right side of most issues. On the other hand, if both Republicans and Democrats have Pro-Choice candidates to head their ticket, I would probably vote for a 3rd party candidate who is uncompromising Pro-Life. I don't think God would want me to compromise on the life of the unborn.

Would I vote for a Mormon over a secular socially-conscious deist who thinks everyone's possessions are the government's?

Every time. I think about Constantine, and numerous other people who were simply preferable because they allow Christians to lead godly lives in peace. (Given Constantine continued to worship Apollos I don't think he was a monotheistic Christian).

If there's a coherent Christian in the ranks I would likely prefer the Christian over the Mormon.

I think the perversion of the Christian faith, re: mormons is what troubles me the most. The tainting of the Christian gospel, as least to folk who don't know any better.

I'd rather a Hindu, Muslim, secularist as a political leader. THEY don't claim to be Christians.

I agree with your scenario, I could not compromise on that issue.

It amazes me that a Christian would rather vote for a Mormon, than 'waste' a vote on a third party candidate or write-in.

How anyone could support an adherent to one of the most foul(utter and complete perversion of the Gospel) and astoundingly idiotic 'religions'(gold plates, seer stones, Moroni) is beyond me.

He is bound by his religious oaths to try to bring about Mormon Zion in this country.

That ought to be fun. White Horse Prophecy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

He would be as successful at spreading Mormonism as the 'Christian' candidates I've been voting for all my life have been in spreading Christian values. How many pro-life presidents have we had? How many pro-life senators and representatives? What good has it done?

We're barking up the wrong tree on that one. We aren't going to change things politically. Things are only going to change when God changes people's hearts.

It's not about winning or losing. God is sovereign and whoever He selects will end up being president, for reasons only He knows. But God, I believe, wants us to make our decision based on biblical principles. No election is going to be 100% clear on who to vote for. Praying for wisdom is a good start to deciding who will get our vote. Pro-Life is an uncompromising position for me.
