Would you vote for a Mormon...

I'm afraid Cain probably wouldn't be electable-I don't see people responding well to the 9-9-9 plan.
The 9-9-9 plan is being revised. This happens all the time in the long nomination process. I don't think he's done anything to make him unelectable ... yet. I don't think the same can be said about Perry and it's getting too late for someone else to jump in. Huntsman, Bachmann (I'd still vote for her), and Santorum are unelectable. I'd have a hard time voting for Gingrich even though he's the most intelligent. His personal life is a mess and his personal life decisions are indefensible. I'll choose Cain the Baptist over Romney the Mormon. Mormonism is still considered a cult by many as are Jehovah Witnesses.[/quote]

I had high hopes for Perry but what is up with his dabate performance..it has been horrid. Newt would destroy Obama in debates but has lots of baggage, his photo ops with Pelosi doesn't help. I like Bachman but she has had some strange off the cuff comments during her campaign. Huntsman is a semi democrat rino. Santorum is sound policy wise but lacks the charisma to advance. Cain is well grounded in conservative principles but also is starting to make a few gaffs that he has to walk back on..his 9-9-9 tax reform plan will be a huge problem with the non tax paying electorate although he is now saying there would be a loophole for those near the poverty level. Ron Paul is Ron Paul. ;) Romney is another RINO trying to give conservative talking points because he's in full campaign mode to get the Republican nomination.

All that said, any one of them would be preferential to the current occupant of the White House.

I agree with everything you wrote. Your assessment is spot on.

Given a choice, I would not vote for a Mormon, just on theological grounds. But given the choice between the Mormon, and the current disaster, I'd vote for the Mormon. I pray it doesn't come to that.....Our country, for all its faults, needs a good, moral, Christian as President. One who walks the walk, and doesn't just talk the talk.

In other words, you're more scared of Democrats than you are of mormons. :p

No, but my reasons for not voting for Romney go deeper than his religion.

I have serious problems with his brand of "conservatism". IMHO he's a RINO, or Democrat-lite. His religion is the least of my concerns, but it is a concern.

So far, Herman Cain has interested me the most.

I now believe Mr. Cain can win the nomination. Evidently, Democrats must believe it too because they are already attacking him like they did Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. The Democrats really must fear a Black Conservative. I really like Herman Cain's straight talk.

I hate to say it, but if Cain does not win the nomination, I may have to write in a candidate in the general election. It's hard to do so, because it really is throwing away a vote, but I WILL NOT vote for the present pretender, no matter what. I didn't vote for him the first time, and I will not do so this time.

I will vote for whomever is the Republican nominee, regardless of religion or color of their skin. Obama must be defeated, his policies and ideology are destroying our country and please don't tell me he is a Christian even though he claims to be..no way he could have sat in Jeremiah Wrights congregation and listened to black liberation theology being spewed from the pulpit for 20 years and not have agreed with his heretical teaching.

True, you don't sit under heretical teaching for 20 years and not have some of it rub off on you. I question if Obama is even Christian in any real sense, seeing that he was raised Muslim in Indonesia. That also doesn't happen without it rubbing off on a person.

At any rate, and by any measure, he MUST be defeated in 2012. I pray that we elect a Godly man to replace him, and that the Senate changes hands, and the House increases its number of Republicans. I pray that God breaks the Establishment hold on policy and politics in the country, and that bold, swift steps are taken to correct the horrible policies that have nearly ruined this country. We simply cannot continue with "business as usual". I also pray that the news media be shaken to its core, and that true, honest journalism returns. the Leftist influence must be broken. Progressivism must be defamed, defeated, and debunked.

I am tired of sacrificing my conscience at the altar of "the lesser evil". If Cain or Paul don't get the nomination (they being the only two I believe I can trust at all), I either won't vote or will write Paul in, he being my preference for a number of reasons.

I held my nose and voted for McCain last time, because of Sarah. Lot of good that did. All I can say is, if Obama isn't soundly defeated next year, America, as we knew it, is done.

It's a free country, vote as you will, just know that the way the political system now operates assures any vote not cast for the eventual Republican nominee is wasted and can only help Obama to be re-elected.

Could you be more specific so that four years from now you can't worm out of what you said? Don't worry, if you're right I'll give you a bundle of rep points for your awesome predictive powers.
