concrete because it's semi-permanant, but I love the sound of a vehicle driving over the gravel.

(I experienced that last summer. We drove throught NH to Maine off the expressway, and a first it was exciting to see all the little towns. But after 10-20 of them, the cuteness wore off, and I was sick of it and would start saying 'oh here's another really cute town'. Of course I said that with thick sarcasm...
