That he would be able to be in Jesus' company for a long time.

AGAIN...shutting a place down doesn't equal getting drunk. Shutting a place down just means staying until it closes...

I've spent three hours in the pub of an evening (from shortly after evening church to when the pub closed) and in that time only drunk two beers. Other times I've spent similar amounts of time and only had one beer.

Being in the pub/bar drinking for several hours doesn't necessarily chugging one beer after another after another.
