God delivered the Isrealites from captivity, yet when they got around those pagean practices, they turned back to them. Just because God frees and delivers us from a sin does not mean we will not ever turn back to that sin nature. Again, Paul talked about this a lot.

I agree you do have to stay away from the influences. Although when I quit smoking crack, I was able to sit in the truck with my ex husband while he was smoking and never once wanted it. So, I will say that you can be 100% delivered.

I wouldn't now. I had to get away from him for more reasons than just addiction. I was stupid at the time.

I am not saying that things don't remind me of it. But, I can say that I will never touch it again.

I know several people who have been delivered from crack addictions and haven't touched it. Although I know several people who bounce back and forth. Richard the guy I am begging people to pray for his struggling right now. So, it isn't 100% unless you want it.

WHich is what we have been saying all along! Not only does God deliver us from addiction, but we have to do the things to keep ourselves clean and sober. We still have to fight the addiction even when that fight because "easy" for us over time. That changes nothing with the fact that God delivers us.
