What did you learn about marriage that will prevent divorce from happening the second time?

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What did you learn about marriage that will prevent divorce from happening the second time?
I learned that people still harden the hearts, but usually not on the first date. So, i know that time will only tell if divorce will happen.

I would suggest that you take some time to figure out why she hardened her heart the first time so you don't repeat your mistakes if you do ever find someone again. People don't harden their hearts for no good reason. They do it because they have been hurt in some way and it is a self-protection mode.
My heart was soften by marriage...so no, it is not the natural progression of marriage.

I blamed myself for many years, but it takes two to tango. She hardened her heart because of my lack of money i guess.

Tho I'm make a comment about hardening ones heart and divorce.
Jesus said God allowed divorce because people hardened their heart. Some us this verse to say divorce isn't acceptable today like people don't harden their heart in the days we live in today. Yet its clear as can be that people do and usually the person quoting these verses about divorce don't sound like they have a very soft heart. At least as I listen to them. But that could always be saying more about me than them.

I agree that people harden their hearts, i do it too so i know. This is something we struggle against.
