  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

As you all may or may not know the earliest ballots have already begun going out with more early voting to happen well early. At this point, given that if some time between now and the time of the election Trump is killed ( not that I want that nor would I even if I were not a Trump supporter, but I would assune that if that were to happen it would be treated as if Trump was president? That is to say that Vance would take the top of the ticket by default and if Trump "won" it would just go to Vance just like it would if something happened to Trump at 12:01PM on January 20th 2025.?

Not sure. But I was stunned to hear that in 1976 two attempts were made on Gerald Ford's life in 15 days. George Wallace was paralyzed while campaigning.
Well being Parlyzed though a person is still living. Moreover, and being born in 91 I of course do not remember 76, however, I am almost certain that there was little to no early voting and certainly no what is called no excuse early voting. It is a completely different ballgame when MILLIONS of Americans cast their vote before election day.

Remember that in the presidential election, you're technically voting for a slate of electors that have pledged to elect their party's chosen candidate rather than a specific president/vice-president pair, so nothing would technically change should Trump die between now and the election (since it's too late to change the ballots). There is actually some precedent for this. In 1872, Horace Greely died after the election, but before the electors met. Grant won that election in a landslide, so it didn't really affect the outcome, but Greely's electors split their votes between his VP and other candidates. I imagine that, should Trump win while deceased, Republican leadership would coalesce around a preferred alternative and direct the electors to vote for that person. Could be Vance, could be someone else. And it's always possible that there would be splits.
