  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Well...guess what folks...there is absolutely nothing to worry about. I thought it was his Amazon Wishlist. It was NOT, even though there were a lot of things he likes on this person's by the same name of my boyfriend. Crazy, huh?

I don't think it would be an immediate concern. I mean, I think back to some of the music I listened to when I was younger and some of it had very explicit and suggestive lyrics. Now, I don't think listening to this kind of music is a good thing or even a total non-issue. At some point these lyrics and messages DO begin to influence the listener. My advice, in the first instance, is to look for other signs that these lyrics may be affecting your boyfriend. However, the best thing you can do is communicate with him. Express your concerns to him the same way you did on this forum. If you have a healthy relationship, and I trust you do, then both of you should be fully confident that you can talk about these things face to face. If you can't, well, then you have bigger issues to worry about than what music he listens to.

God bless,
JR

Ah, a good ending to this one then!
Honestly though, and for "if something like this happens in the future": I'd ask him about it if it had been his wishlist. Or if you come across a weird video, or weird link, or whatever. Don't sit there and wonder, ASK!
