Would it be wrong for Satan to encourage people to be good?

I just assert that he is. Thats what the rest of the world does so really that should be good enough.
But as a minor bit of evidence i present the fundamentalist christians that quite clearly tell us what god wants "The bible states slavery is okay" , "no gays" and "Seperation of the races" are apparently all gods idea. So clearly satan set to work to twart gods plan and tempt people into doing away with those things.

Slavery in the Bible can be translated to employee, debtor, mortgage holder, bill-payer in today's language.

Slavery in the sense that man took other men by force and then forced them into slavery is not the same thing.

If a person needed a job, he became the slave of someone who would take care of that person's needs... much the same way we get paychecks today.

If a person owed a debt... he worked it off if he could not get the funds to pay it off. That was slavery. There was nothing wrong with that. Today we use different words.

Paul said he had become the slave of Christ and that Christ had freed him from being a slave to sin by paying off the debt of sin with his death.

Abortion has been around since women have decided to terminate pregnancies. It only became legal in 1973. Infidelity has probably been around jsut as long. High divorce rates aren't because of either conservative or liberal dogma, it's widespread immaturity, plus the availability of divorce in the 1960's. The reason they're perceived as so high now is because over the last 50 years, we've learned that women are just as equal to men. Women should not have to be forced to depend on someone else to provide for them and their children, they should not be forced to stay married to cheaters, or abusers. and they should have autonomy over their bodies, regardless of how "right" or "wrong" abortion is.

Violence rates have actually gone DOWN since the 60s. The world is actually safer today than it was back in the 60s. There are temporary spikes in some locations, sure, but it's not an upward trend. Teen pregnancies have been steadily declining. the only reason we hear about them more is because of the media.

Kindly do your homework BEFORE you start piping off about "EVIL LIBERALS". I'm not even liberal but really now...

Maybe the concept of Satan as God's enemy is a misinterpretation. In Jewish tradition Satan is more like an agent of God, a tester of souls (or something along those lines). A concept that is also still prevalent in Christian culture. See for example the prologue of Goethe's Faust which has God sending Mephistopheles (=Satan) to test Faust's faith, similar to the story of Job in the OT.
So I'd argue that Satan as God's enemy may be the wrong way of looking at Jewish and Christian tradition. Maybe whatever Satan is currently doing is not against, but according to God's plan.

That would be serving God.

When he leads us away from God, I believe he is also inadvertantly serving God.

If Satan is really against God why wouldn't he mess up God's plan by trying to make people be nice? Why would people being nice mess up God's plan? Isn't God sovereign and therefore his plans cannot be messed up?
