• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Would God make something into a sin if you asked Him?

Yes, it sounds like it might be a good idea to get a diagnosis from someone knowledgeable. I believe OCD can sometimes appear to be other disorders, so it's possible your first diagnosis was mistaken. (I don't know much about schizophrenia though.) I've had pretty disturbing obsessions, including one about fear of praying to the devil. I hope you can research and find some strategies that work for you and professionals who can help you. I'm happy to share advice and resources about OCD, if that would be helpful.
Thank you, I would be glad to see some resources.

I suppose I have good news, I had my appointment today, I do still have ocd and do not have schizophrenia at least not full blown schizophrenia I do have schizotypal personality disorder which is considered by some to be a mild form of it. So I am happy I have more explanations of why this seems to real to me.

Wow, this is good to hear! Thank you for sharing! I can't remember, have I sent you links to OCD resources before? I don't want to send you the same ones again!
