Worst thing someone said to you on a first date...

Mine wasn't something that was said, but I tripped down the stairs and landed at his feet when he came to pick me up on our first date.

Needless to say I could have died.
I don't think when he came to pick you up for your date that he'd actually be picking you up off the ground. ;) Gives a whole new definition to "picking up chicks" :p .

I'm sorry about what happened, I'm not trying to flame you by saying this, just so you know.

It is funny and I can laugh about it now, but when I was 15 and it happened I could have died.

Not only was it our first date, it was my first date every.

On my first date, which was on my seventeenth birthday,a guy I had met at church took me out to dinner and around town.Anyway, everything seemed normal and nice untill he started telling me about the first time he had sex and what it was like. Then he went into all the places he would like to have sex, especially "under a waterfall" which he graphically described. No wonder my dating life has been screwed up ever since...

Technically it could've been considered a second date. The first meeting was a brief coffee meeting so he could check me out before he took me to an awards dinner he had to cover for work.

While sitting at a table with strangers who work in the fashion industry, he told me I had beautiful lips and asked me when I was going to let him kiss them. At the same time he was holding on to my hand and doing the finger in the palm thing. Later on he suprised me by taking my picture with his camera phone. I still worry about what he might have done with that picture.

I don't think I've ever been on a bad date (some women might disagree:D ), even the one blind date I went on was ok, but I tend to make a great effort to have a good time, no matter what.

Although, when I first came to NY I hooked up with a group of Italian girls and guys from Bay Ridge and Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, not Saturdaynight Fever stereotypes (although I was told that the brother of one of the girls could have people's legs broken:eek: ) but were just fun and like to go out to clubs.

I'm 6'2", not really all that tall, but it seemed that in every club we went to over the course of several weeks I banged my head hard going up an down stairs and such. I got the rep as the guy fromt he Midwest who doens't know when to duck.:sigh: It didn't help the stereotype here that Midwesterners are slow learners!

"...well, I'm a hair stylist, but my REAL job is "team". We aclimate Fortune 500 Compnnies to the internet."

me: (realizing this isn't a date, but a pitch to get me into a pyramid scam) "Sweet, you guys make routers?"
her: "what's a router?"
me: "Never mind, tell me about your business."
her: "I can't explain it here, you'll need to come to a meeting."
me: "No thanks, I'm not interested in pyramids."
her: "It's not a pyramid, we aclimate fortune 500 companies to the internet."
me: "I never knew fortune 500 companies needed a 'team' of hair stylists and retirees to get them 'aclimated' to the internet. I think what you're talking about is portal websites, and you want me to join the team under you so I ecome your customer base, because no one else buys from "the team"."

this is the third pitch I've heard for this same scheme, I ask the router question every time because these people have no clue what they're talking about, they're just parroting what they were told at the last "team meeting".

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to make this so entertaining for me, and apparently everyone else. Keep it up. If you can't laugh about bad dates and dates gone awry then you might as well not laugh at all. And in the words of Vanilla Ice from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Secret of the Ooze, "Go ninja, Go ninja, GO!"

ah yes, dating can be so rough. i should have just picked someone years ago and just settled down, but i was so wrapped up with school and career that I didn't. I regret that now. *sigh*. And it seems once you've hit 30, there's a reason these guys are single!!

It's better to be single than be miserable in a marriage, or be divorced and being without your kids on some holidays or aching for your kids because their father doesn't have time for them anymore.

You should enter into marriage because you couldn't stand to be without them (along with a lot of other stuff).
