  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I just had to try it. No one was surprised. I scored a 5.
Tagged a Fundamentalist/Reformed Evangelical w/ a 75% mark on both.

This would be funny except I'm a life long Methodist, A certified lay speaker,
and an avid reader of thick books.

Thanks for the quiz - now I know I'm going in the RIGHT direction.

CofR - you are right - we do need to talk

Sort of a contradiction, don't you think? Sounds like Spong wants to have his cake and eat it, too. But if there is no theistic God, no incarnation, we cannot be made in the image of God. He's undermined his own basis for his militant tolerationism.

I guess we're made in the image of a non-thestic god....

I was told by Dad Sr. to check this thread. Don't let the fundamentalist percentage fool you, I'm not a legalist... perhaps an idealist... but not a legalist.

I scored a 5.

Thanks for the quiz CoR, I think this was one of my higher grades. :D

I scored heavy Reformed Evangelical. On the other hand, I don't think that I would be accepted in many "evangelical" circles.....Reformed, on the other hand, hit the nail on the head! :)
I took the test and this is what it said about me.

You scored as Reformed Evangelical. 96%

You are a Reformed Evangelical. You take the Bible very seriously because it is God's Word. You most likely hold to TULIP and are sceptical about the possibilities of universal atonement or resistible grace. The most important thing the Church can do is make sure people hear how they can go to heaven when they die.

No, an Arminian............ :doh:silly me  , that's the same thing, isn't it? :p
Nah, you can be an Arminian Protestant. In fact, Arminianism in Protestantism makes more sense than in Catholicism. Think about it. Arminianism is founded on personal, independent freedom of the will. Arminians are a bunch of mavericks running around self-willing everything they do. They don't want to be submit to any authority at all! "God chose me!? I don't think so! I chose God and don't you forget it!" It amazes me that that kind of philosophy could exist within a strict authoritative ecclesiastical institution like Rome or Orthodoxy.
