  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

The only thing Scripture states clearly and directly is that we don't know and God does. It will come when it comes. It might be tomorrow and it might be another 50,000 years. To suggest anything else—to look for signs in our midst—is pure speculation.

When has there not been war in the middle east? ;)

If you find the idea scary, then why not engage in some research on the subject?

A little knowledge, gained from reputable sources, goes a long way towards removing the fear.

Having said that, and not to scare you further, I believe we are approaching the "end times" as it is known. However, as others have said, only God knows when that will be.

If you read Revelation, and associated scriptures, you will find that the signs of the end times consist of a lot more than war in the middle east.

In any case, Believers need not worry about the end times (Tribulation period).

I don't care much for the end. Yes there are many signs for the end but there were signs in Pauls time. AD 79 Vesuvius destroyed Pompeii, this fulfilled quite a lot in revelations. There were wars and rumours of wars and Christians were persecuted on a massive scale.

And then as now there were plans for building the third temple on temple mount.

But be watchful and never leave guard, the end will come like a thief in the night when no-one is expecting it.

There are no signs given for the Rapture, just to be ready. There are, however, signs given for the Second Coming and it does say something like "when you see all these things begin to come to pass, know that it is near even at the doors. So if we're seeing the signs for the Second Coming, the Rapture is even closer.

The Rapture will happen first (imminent could happen at any time), all believers meet the Lord in the air. ONLY unbelievers will be left on the earth, Satan the anti-christ starts a new world order, many will worship him in the first 3 1/2 years, THEN in the second 3 1/2 years ALL hell breaks loose. Wars all over the world, mainly in the middle east, you are correct. For Satan hates the Jews (Jesus is a Jew).

After the seven years are over, the second advent of Christ occurs. The Lord kicks booty on planet earth, Satan and his fallen angels are cast into the hades for 1000 years. Then starts the Millenium, with believers only, those unbelievers that accepted Christ as savior and who survived the tribulation.

Don't worry, you are a believer, you will go up in the Rapture with all of us other believers. The Lord has promised he will NOT leave us, His children on earth during the tribulation. In those 7 years, it will be the greatest devistation planet earth has ever seen. LITTERAL HELL ON EARTH!!!

Statement of fact that is sure to boil some peoples blood, but here goes: The Revelation is HISTORY not PROPHECY!

The best book I ever read on it took the preacher 35 years to research and write (and he never made a dime off it).

In 1967 I sat in Linwood Baptist Church in Shreveport LA and listened to a pre-milleninalist (I never COULD spell that word!!) preacher convince me beyond a shadow of a doubt that the war then going on in the Middle East was it! It wasn't till years later that I realized ALL those who prophesy from the pre-mill viewpoint are ALWAYS WRONG!

THink about it: Over just my lifetime the 666 guy has been changed a dozen times. The old USSR that was supposed to be part of the big fight doesn't even exist anymore and the Chinese are to busy making trinkets to sell in Wal Mart to send an army to Isreal! Besides, how could some theology that didn't start till the early 1800's even be considered seriously?

Sorry guys, Christ said nobody knows and the only thing the prognosticators get is rich off your money selling new books every few years when the prophacies in the old ones don't come true!!

BYE!!

Although I still take a future view of the rapture/tribulation. I get pretty disgusted with Christians saying that because the rapture will happen before the tribulation christians do not have to worry.

Believe me...Christians are right now being persecuted just as badly as if they were in the middle of the tribulation. You can't get any worse than torture and killing. If you were right now a christian in North Korea for example, your life wouldn't be worth a plugged nickel. Well actually it might be worth something...to sick scientists who currently use christians there for experiments.

There are many other places just as bad. North American christians are so spoiled in their clean little churches with the pews all in a row and where the most important concern is whether we should add more programs for the baby boomers or spend more time with the "seekers". Whether Christ returns tomorrow or 100,000 years from now should not change the way we live or act.

The world, or the Earth is not going to end as you think it is. After the Tribulation and the second coming, there will be a 1000 year Millennial Kingdom on the Earth. The Earth will then be made into a lush garden planet. When the new Jeresalem comes down, the sun will be taken away and the Earth will be lit and warmed by the Glory of God. At the end of the Millennnial Kingdom, all of God's people will then go to what has been called the "New Earth". Then we will spend eternity with God in what will be a hybrid cross between Earth and Heaven.
When that happens, the Earth will be left as a dead planet.

The world will not end. This age of man will conclude but the Earth and Heaven won't fade away. Instead, the last two chapters of the bible is clear that they (Heaven and Earth) will be renewed in unite with God fully present in both.

Well said Dave.............

With all due respect the idea that Christians will leave the earth as it rots and wastes away (pre trib) and that we spend eternity somewhere else than a reborn earth is a product of dualism and Gnosticism.

That sounds similar to the Islamic prophecy of end times too.

You deconstructed the whole garden planet by taking us out of it...Why would God produce fruitness just to destroy it? That is not his nature to produce harmony with his purpose then to destroy it.

How can you ever know God's nature with regards to the End times? What he does inbetween has nothing to do with what he has proclaimed for the end.
