  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I believe that we have a communication failure.

What I was trying to say was, how do you manage the money that you receive from our paycheck or earn an income from personal business. God's main goal is for us to earn enough to live by. Money is used to meet our daily needs such as food, utility bills and other expenses. God would meet all of our needs (Matthew 6), however God will not meet our selfish desires. There is nothing wrong with having a desire for something as long as our motives are correct. Contentment is a problem for many people because it is flesh lead rather than spiritual. 1 Timothy 6:6 says "Godliness with contentment is great gain", that Hebrews 13:5 says "Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have".

I am reminded what Paul said in 1 Timothy 5:8 If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. my family is struggling to make ends with our cost of living because housing and utility costs rose including monthly food and automobile fuel costs. I take the bus to work daily which means I saved over $250 a month of wear/tear, fuel and parking costs just by paying for a simple bus pass.

My family is one of those America’s working middle-class families who are facing a wave of economic insecurity even though we do have a secured job and we are paying our bills.

While at the same time, I am reminded that all of what I own belongs to God.

I somehow got the idea you were saying our paychecks belong to society.
An Obama "spread the wealth" notion.
Sorry I misunderstood you.

We are also facing that economic insecurity.
So many thousands of people have lost their jobs, it's a scary time.
But we do stockpile food, for us and for others.
I stock up on things on sale, things like rice.
I got the best bargain the other day, 5 lbs. of rice for 2 bucks.:)
I bought 4 of them, 20 lbs. of rice for only $8.00.
We do a little of that every week, a few items here and there, it adds up.

We shop at thrift stores for clothing and etc.

We use coupons or go to Costco warehouse when buying grocery or house supplies like toilet paper.

We save an average $50 to $90 a month by using points from our supermarket. Sometimes, we get free gas.

Like my parents, they save money while shopping and give money to those who needs them (mostly through Church).

Money should be family first by meeting needs, anything left over, God wants us to be wise and use them according to His will.

It's about 8:30pm, and I'm still working.
Hubby is not home yet, he should be home by 9:30pm.
Sometimes, self-employment is the pits.:(
We work from can to can't.
I haven't really eaten today.
Cereal this morning, crackers for a snack, I'm hungry.
But I still have work to do, I have to write checks to livestock markets.
I have 3 dogs, one is a puppy.
I fed them, they are outside now, so I am taking a break.:)
btw, that rice was not a cheapy store brand.
It was long grain Mahatma.:D
Yum yum.
