Hello D'Ann!

I request prayer for the fire victims in Greece, the flood victims in Australia, and around the world, as the summer season begins, and the weather is fierce, yet again.

Also, to continue to pray for ALL victims of war, famine, genocide, homeless, refugees...boy the list is infinite, we need a few pages. But you get the idea.

Love and peace to you all!

London & Glasgow car bombs

Hey ladies. I didn't know if you were aware that over the weekend there were two failed car bombs in London, and a thwarted attack on Glasgow airport. Saturday is the anniversary of the July 7th bomb attacks on London. Please keep Britain in your prayers - we are currently on the highest state of alert - critical.

Hi all. This is a little less than a month old, but this is and will be a continuing and growing problem. Please pray for the Christians facing this type of situation around the world.

Here is the article.....

Gaza Christians warned to submit to Islam

Gaza-based Muslim groups affiliated with Hamas and possibly Al Qaeda have warned local Christians that Hamas' military conquest of the volatile coastal strip means they must now fully submit to Islamic ritual law.
In an interview with WorldNetDaily, Sheikh Abu Saqer, leader of the group Jihadia Salafiya, said that Gaza's Muslims “expect our Christian neighbors to understand the new Hamas rule means real changes. They must be ready for Islamic rule if they want to live in peace in Gaza.”
“Missionary activity” will no longer be tolerated, and those suspected of trying to covert local Muslims to Christianity will be “harshly punished,” said Abu Saqer. Additionally, the consumption of alcohol is now prohibited in Gaza, and all women must fully cover themselves in public.
In order to ensure compliance with these regulations, Abu Saqer announced the formation of a new “military wing” that will a close eye on the subjects of “Hamastan.”
Following last week's unprovoked assault on a Catholic church and school in Gaza City, most are unconvinced that even full submission to Gaza's new conservative Muslim overlords will afford any degree of peace and security to the area's tiny Christian population.

Pray for Christians in Australia and other parts of the world to be bold witnesses for Christ despite attacks against them. 1 Corinthians 15:57; 2 Corinthians 2:14

CHINA CHINA: House-Church Leaders Detained in Shangdong and Shaanxi Provinces China Aid Association
In June, police in China arrested church leaders and accused them of being suspects using evil cults to obstruct the enforcement of the law. PAKISTAN PAKISTAN: Armed Muslims Attack Christians in Pakistan VOM Sources/ Compass Direct News
On June 17, 40 Muslim men armed with guns, axes and wooden sticks attacked several believers while they were preparing for an evangelistic meeting at a Salvation Army church in the village of Bismillahlpur Kanthan, near Faisalabad. Seven Christians were injured and the church was desecrated. Local Christians said the attack was sparked by their refusal to cancel the meeting. The night before the attack armed Muslims stormed the house of Sawar Masih, one of the meeting's organizers, and assaulted his two young children and demanded he cancel the event. Christians injured in the June 17 attack were forced to leave the hospital early because the doctors under-reported their wounds due to pressure from the Islamic extremists. Police initially refused to file a complaint against the attackers and did not so only after lobbying efforts of Christians. Several Christians have fled the area in fear of further attacks. Pray for those hurt in the attacks. Ask God to encourage Christians in Pakistan to remain strong in their faith despite persecution. Romans 8:11, Psalm 107:20

One very dear member here, who I am extremely fond of lives in Iran. She has corresponded with me many times and about a month ago has not been on-line. I had prayed that it would not be for serious reasons, but I know that she and her family worship in their home privately. Please pray that her family is untouched by the persecution. She is a lovely woman, and I feel so blessed to know her.....due to political reasons, her family is stuck in Iran. They need many many prayers. Also pray that if they are being persecuted that they continue in their strength in the Lord and do not buckle under pressure. Thank you!

Please pray for our son

On July 17th, our son, Benedict James Jona, decided to be born 6 weeks too early. Life has been quite a roller coaster since. :sigh:

About a week after his birth, while still in hospital, he started to show signs of getting sick. He was not interested in eating at all. Then he decided to throw up some bile and pass blood in his stool. He was quickly x-rayed and diagnosed with something called Necrotizing Enterocolitis (NEC). Yes, it's as serious as it sounds. Some premature infants die from this disease, though most are much younger and smaller than Benedict. Anyway, he was promptly treated with antibiotics and bowel rest (which means no food by mouth) for 10 days. He responded to treatment quickly and started getting better. We were thrilled.

Then.....just days after resuming his feeds, he started to get sick again. Lo and behold, more blood showed up in his diaper. He was quickly transferred to a children's hospital and is beginning (as of yesterday) to be treated for NEC once again. We can hardly believe he has come down with this again. Doctors are puzzled as well.

We love our son soooooo much. He is sooo beautiful! We desperately want him to get better so we can take him home. We are exhausted and stressed and sick of living at hospitals. Please pray for our boy, that God would heal him and allow him to come home soon. If you can, please ask your priest to pray for him during liturgies. If you have a prayer chain, tell them, too. We are desperate to see our boy get healthy.

A couple of days ago I saw something on the news that shocked me. Young teens plays with death by choking each other til they pass out. In Sweden some of them film it with cellphone cameras and put the film on display on the net. This really got to me. I googled it and found this
http://www.deadlygameschildrenplay.com/en/home.asp

Turns out "The choking game" is pretty common. Children as young as 6-7 has died because of it.

Please join me in prayer for these young children/teens who plays with death in this way.

*****************************************

Father, I lift up every young child and teen who play this "game". I ask You to send someone in their lives that can help them realise what kind of danger they put themselves in. You know the reasons to why some of them play this game. Please fill their needs, if they need someone to talk to, send the right person their way. If they need to feel loved, help them to know they are loved. Let everyone understand that the gift of life is to precious to play with like that.

In Jesus name
Amen. (Also posted in WD and Prayer)
