Working

I just learned that there will be try-outs for the musical 'Working'. I was just wondering about it, because it happens to be the first time that I've ever heard of it.

Apparently (from what I've learned) most of the music is 60's rock.


I'm wondering what your experiences with the musical have been. Good? Bad? Boring? Fun? Entertaining? Well written?

Also, I must prepare a monologue and a song for the audition. Any ideas for that?

Hey, I know it's probably past your auditions and everything, but I just wanted to say that Working isn't that great of a musical. It's not a great show to put on for a community or high school production because there are not that many parts and half of them are just straight monologues with no singing. But, the music is upbeat and fun.

Actually, now that I've seen it, I have to disagree a little. Sure, it may not be the best of the best, but it's actually fun to see. Yes, some songs are a little depressing, but almost all of the songs are beautiful.

We did this one when I was in high school and it was a lot of fun... and to this day I still get songs from it stuck in my head, moreso than any other musical I've done.

Can't deny the fact that the songs do get stuck in my head. In fact I'm singing "I'm Just Movin'" right now My only problem with it was how depressing it is but it's definitely a fun show. Wow, that sounds like such an oxymoron

Did you get in to do this one? I am not familiar with the music but have heard of it.
