  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Working with graphics...

'Awesome' is certainly the right word, Dawn. I'll have to track down that filter.

BTW, I did find a bit of info on Poser & Vue but they seem rather expensive. Do you know of any freeware 3D programs?

Sunny, I didn't create 'The Lord Reigns', although I'm pretty sure I could- I'll have to try it. And I do hope you're going to share some of your photography with us.

Silas

ps: I did create this one;

Silas-I like your creation! Truer words were never fashioned!
I have a question...In the thread called "Sell the stuff you make" or something like that & another thread, I ran across some non-believers that had some definite atheist sayings at the end of their posts. I felt called upon to tell them I would pray for them, etc. Am I wrong in this? I told them how saddened I was that they were missing out as I was there once. Am I breaking a rule or anything? :help: Anyway here's is a couple of my manips done in Photoshop7. Just a desaturation & resize witha little unsharp mask after resize.

Here are some free 3D modeling programs:

http://www.wings3d.com/
http://www.blender.org/
http://www.anim8or.com/main/index.html

Also there are high end 3D programs that are being given away through some of the industry magazines...this is a great program if you can get your hands on a copy of the magazine when it comes out...

COMPUTER ARTS 88 EXCLUSIVE: CINEMA 4D 6 CE - FREE!

In our October issue, Computer Arts is teaming up with Maxon to bring you a full version of top 3D package, Cinema 4D 6 CE - a PAL resolution limited version of the widely acclaimed Cinema 4D XL 6, originally sold for £1395. This top-rated package is a fully functioning version of the acclaimed animation software, featuring Subdivision Surface modelling, point level animation and hierarchical control.
------------------------
You're also able to register your CE for 99 € and get a version being able to render at 16000 X 16000 instead of
600 X 400 pixels.It is changed into CE + then and offers the full features of R 6 !
------------------------
It will be in October's 3D World mag as well (issue 43, out 3 Sept) if anybody gets that instead of Computer Arts.

And here is a list of links for programs and info for deciding which program is best for each person:

Sunny, those are nice pictures. You show a very unique touch.
In answer to your question, I can't imagine a Christian forum having a problem with anyone sharing the Gospel with non-believers. I suspect the non-believers who post here are looking for something they perhaps can't quite put their fingers on anyway. Certainly we need to pray for them. I'm convinced you did the right thing

Dawn, thank you so much for those links. Your work has piqued my interest in 3D modeling. If it doesn't tax my poor brain too much more than animating graphics I might be able to take a shot at it ;)

Sunny, I love viewing other peoples work. Even more so if I know them. I have some friends who are serious photographers so I have a real respect for the art.

After some of the mindless, juvenile drivel I've seen posted (by some who were eventually banned), you should never have to worry about getting booted.

The .gif below is one I just created in PSP.

oooo i love the graphics (i made my own sig etc too) and use poser and photoshop, although i really need to improve my 3d skills, do you import the railings or create it in poser dawn?
have you seen photoshop cs(8) is out and looks kick ***!
i have a wacom tablet and wouldnt part with it for the world, it has completely transformed the work i produce, and you can pick up KPT (kai's power tools) with the fraxframe filter for about £10 (dont know the currency convertion) and it is good, but takes a long time to render -.-
:) glad to see all the interest
