Working on a Sunday

Ok now are we saying here that no one should work on Sunday? What about the Nurses, Doctors and such. I work on Sunday because I babysit for some one who has to. Am I wrong. Or should I not watch the little one because her mom must work?

It not Worship on Sunday , I have sauid to you what it was.

I did not say to you to just go to a SDA church so saying i'm pushing it is false.

If I were really pushing it , I wouldn't have taking the chance to say to you to ask those question to a priest and a pastor don't you think ?

The Antichrist according to the Bible would seek to change times and laws, right? Is this not exactly what the Catholic church did with by altering the 2nd (idolatry, a law) and 4th (Sabbath--Saturday, time and a law) commandments?

Daniel 7:25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

Colossians 2:16, as I have pointed out to you many times, is referring to Leviticus 23 the feast days or yearly sabbaths like Passover or Yom Kippur and meat and drink offerings.

However, you know about all of this, right? Did you know that your church at one point used to keep the true Sabbath?

Go read the Chapters , not just the verse , you'll see the context , it's better to read it by yourselve , got to go to sleep now , But truthseeker will continue typing I think.

In order for hospitals and firedepartments to stay open people have to work in them. Why is that ok Truthseeker? Isn't that compromise?

well, I do not see that reference in any bible footnotes I have checked - I think this is simply your opinion - which is a fringe opinion.

I work Saturday overnights and Sunday overnights. I work for a company that cares for men and women with mental and physical disabilities. I have to be here. I still find time to worship with my church brothers and sisters, I go to church after work. And I still find time to rest, my days off. I also find time for devotion to God outside of church. So, I don't think I'm doing wrong. I think if I was the Lord would make it clear to me.

Hi Schae7,

That is not compromise because this is exactly what Jesus did. Remember, the Bible says that we are to walk as He walked. Jesus kept the true Sabbath His entire life. He was also practical enough to know that it is good to heal people on the Sabbath (that's what hospitals do) and pull you ox out of the ditch on the Sabbath (that's what EMERGENCY services like firedepartments do).

The verses:

Luke 14:3-5 And Jesus answering spake unto the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath day? And they held their peace. And he took him, and healed him, and let him go; And answered them, saying, Which of you shall have an *** or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not straightway pull him out on the sabbath day?

Jesus was a Jew, talking to Jews about Jewish laws.

Jesus was circumsized as well, but as Christians we do not do that.

Do SDA's keep all levitical laws, or just the easy ones?
also, do SDA's believe they are saved by grace through faith working in love? Or do they believe that one is saved by faith working in Law?

When God made the earth he didn't make Sunday through Saturday. We did that. Man named the days. And what about Leap year? "Why are there seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day, sixty minutes in an hour and sixty seconds in a minute? There is no mathematical or astronomical reason for the number of days in a week as there is for the number of days or months in a year, which are determined by the movements of the sun and moon, respectively. The Babylonians were the first civilization to have a sevenday week. They created a seven day week so they could devote one day a week to worship the seven heavenly bodies that they knew--Mercury,Venus,Mars,Jupiter,Saturn,the moon and the sun. Later in history, other cultures had weeks varying in length from four to ten days, depending on the frequency of their markets. Roman farmers worked the fields for seven days and went to market on the eighth. Therfore, the Romans had an eight-day week. Our modern seven day week resulted from the spread of Christianity. In the Book of Genisis, God created the world in six days;on the seventh day (the Sabbath) He rested. The word "Sabbath" is from the Babylonian "Sabattu," a word that came into use during Jewish captivity under the Babylonians. The Jewish Sabbath is on Saturday, as was the Romans'. The Romans considered Saturday, ruled by Saturn, to be an unlucky day and thus chose it to be a day of rest. During the French Revolution in 1792, France established a ten-day week with three-week months. Each day had ten hours consisting of one hundred minutes and each minute was comprised of one hundred seconds. This system was extremely logical (as was the metric system, also established during the French Revolution). Alas, the system was used only thirteen years, until Napoleon took power and returned France to the old Gregorian system, in order to please the Pope. Do you know the history of your church ?? Did you know that the Sabbath have been changed in the 13th century ??? Because Saturday at that time was the stock market time so they decided to change it to
Sunday.

Go read the Encyclopedia of Catholic at page 806 in the middle of the page I think. (The most trust book by catholic) It is clearly say that they deliberely changed the Saturday to Sunday because THEY believe it was the right thing to do. Did God command this No. Did the Apostle command this No. Did Jesus command this No. It is a tradition of the man and it was way after christ die.

God rested himself the 7th day. Nothing has be done the 7th day. It is a day of the creation. Why would God change is mind when he himself rested on the Sabbath and created something on the first day ??

God is not a God who make compromise

Remember your sabbath day to keep it holy. Remember

St. Paul enumerates the Sabbath among the Jewish observances which are not obligatory on Christians (Col., ii, 16; Gal., iv, 9-10; Rom., xiv, 5).
