geocajun said:Why are you dodging my question? You are in fact pushing your churches doctrine (SDA) on Christians who are keeping on the constant traditions of the Church, but when asked for you to tell us the entire SDA doctrine - which states that our worship on Sunday means we are one of the "Marks of the beast" you are afraid to answer.
If its what you beleive then stand up for it!
Like I said, if Sunday worship was good enough for the Apostles, its good enough for me!
We do not keep the Jewish sabbath which Christ Jesus fullfiled, we keep the Lords Day as a day of rest. The Day which Christ Jesus rose!
Colossians 2:16 Let no one, then, pass judgment on you in matters of food and drink or with regard to a festival or new moon or sabbath.

Long time no see. A few posts back, I believe, it seemed that you had enough of our conversation and so you said that you would not return. However, I guess that you missed me.
You can look from Genesis to Revelation and not find a command from Jesus or any of His disciples to change the Sabbath or to void it. Or can you?
Hi geocajun, geocajun said:I'm back. I see your still at your old tricks, trying to confuse Christians about Christianity.
Why would anyone in the NT bother with it? Christ Jesus fullfulled it, and now it - like circumsicion, is a matter of Jewish law.
We keep Sunday as our day of rest and like Scripture tells us, we do not critisize others about keeping new moons or sabbaths.
tell me, do you just throw that verse out so you can critisize Christians and still "feel good" ?
Colossians 2:16 Let no one, then, pass judgment on you in matters of food and drink or with regard to a festival or new moon or sabbath.

The Antichrist according to the Bible would seek to change times and laws, right? Is this not exactly what the Catholic church did with by altering the 2nd (idolatry, a law) and 4th (Sabbath--Saturday, time and a law) commandments?
Daniel 7:25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
Colossians 2:16, as I have pointed out to you many times, is referring to Leviticus 23 the feast days or yearly sabbaths like Passover or Yom Kippur and meat and drink offerings.
Sixrs said:Ok now are we saying here that no one should work on Sunday? What about the Nurses, Doctors and such. I work on Sunday because I babysit for some one who has to. Am I wrong. Or should I not watch the little one because her mom must work?
Schae7 said:In order for hospitals and firedepartments to stay open people have to work in them. Why is that ok Truthseeker? Isn't that compromise?
thetruthseeker said:Hi Schae7,
That is not compromise because this is exactly what Jesus did. Remember, the Bible says that we are to walk as He walked. Jesus kept the true Sabbath His entire life. He was also practical enough to know that it is good to heal people on the Sabbath (that's what hospitals do) and pull you ox out of the ditch on the Sabbath (that's what EMERGENCY services like firedepartments do).

The Catholic church murdered millions of Protestants (saints) in the Dark Ages for believing in and interpreting the Bible for themselves.

However, you know about all of this, right?
DID YOU SEE THIS -->Did you know that your church at one point used to keep the true Sabbath?

CrossMovement said:Did you know that the Sabbath have been changed in the 13th century ??? Because Saturday at that time was the stock market so they decided to change it to
Sunday.
Go read the Encyclopedia of Catholic at page 806 in the middle of the page I think. (The most trust book by catholic) It is clearly say that they deliberely changed the Saturday to Sunday because THEY believe it was the right thing to do. Did God command this No. Did the Apostle command this No. Did Jesus command this No. It is a tradition of the man and it was way after christ die.

on you request, I pulled up the Catholic Encyclopedia and found the following in it:
Catholic Encyclopedia: Sabbath
The Sabbath in the New Testament
Christ, while observing the Sabbath, set himself in word and act against this absurd rigorism which made man a slave of the day. He reproved the scribes and Pharisees for putting an intolerable burden on men's shoulders (Matt., xxiii, 4), and proclaimed the principle that "the sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath" (Mark, ii, 27). He cured on the Sabbath, and defended His disciples for plucking ears of corn on that day. In His arguments with the Pharisees on this account He showed that the Sabbath is not broken in cases of necessity or by acts of charity (Matt., xii, 3 sqq.; Mark, ii, 25 sqq.; Luke, vi, 3 sqq.; xiv, 5). St. Paul enumerates the Sabbath among the Jewish observances which are not obligatory on Christians (Col., ii, 16; Gal., iv, 9-10; Rom., xiv, 5). The gentile converts held their religious meetings on Sunday (Acts, xx, 7; 1 Cor., xvi, 2) and with the disappearance of the Jewish Christian churches this day was exclusively observed as the Lord's Day. (See SUNDAY.)
